Xiamen, Explore China★ Hey Amoy is a project related to cultural

exploration and protection.You will go to different culture places, local communities and public welfare activities, to experience the real China and the beautiful Xiamen.

★ At the same time, You will share with the Chinese youth how to protect culture. Through such a way of making social impact, to let more people know of minority traditional culture, wake up the culture inheritance and protection.

♥ Xiamen is a well-known tourist port city in the Southeast coast of China. It is one of the Cleanest Cities of China, the Garden Cities of China, the National Environmental Protection Model Cities, and the best sightseeing cities in China.

♥ Not only being wealthy with travel resources, Xiamen has also temperate weather, fast and convenient transport and communication, and complete travel establishments.

♥ All makes Xiamen one of the most suitable cities for investors and tourists in China.

JOB DESCRIPTION 4

Go to Opera Research Center to learn opera with kids and buddies ( Local university volunteers). We will strengthen the process of culture understanding from the perspectives of dramas, figures, props and musical instruments;

Go to Boxing Hall to learn Kungfu with kids and buddies. You will get to understand Five Ancestor Boxing from ancient to modern times, step by step. The whole process requires you to learn at least one set of punch.

Communicate with local community residents, experience the local people's life like;

Participate in different traditional culture activities such as Chinese paper-cuting, Kongfu like five ancestor boxing, lacquer painting to learn Chinese culture which could arise people's awareness of intercultural heritage protection;

Share your culture and experience in China face to face with local college students.Share your views and ideas about the protection of traditional cultural heritage.

Share your culture with the local residents, through the exhibition of your national characteristics, family name clothing, food, culture and construction etc;

Participate in public welfare activities organized by local organizations. At the same time, the above-mentioned cultural experience of the activities, the majority of the activities will be recorded as videos.

GCDS (Global Citizen Development Summit) is a conference held by AIESEC MoC. All the exchange participants from different countries or areas will go to one place (This year: Shanghai) to attend the conference. You have to participate in GCDs for three days (Time between 28th June-1st July). The delegate fee costs 300 RMBs. You will meet more than 300 EPs in the conference and will get prepared for the coming events.

LV Program

LV（Local Volunteers from college）❋ Buddy will participant in the whole project

with EP. To help the EPs easier to adapt Chinese life.

❋ Meanwhile, LV could be a translator , to help EPs communication with local people.

❋ Every activities must to have buddy come with EP, and every EP here have their private buddy.

❋ EPs will live in LV homes.

In Explore China activities, apart from introducing about my country to many foreigners, we can learn a lot of things to improve knowledge about the biggest country in the world. EPs were given chance to get a new look about Chinese culture through foods, or Spring festival’s activities such as decorating house, setting off firecracker, making paper-cutting, flying sky lantern … and especially many places of scenic beauty, those before just can be acknowledged through televisions, films or newspapers... After completing all tasks at school with full of enthusiasm and passion, such relaxing and comfortable rest was a precious gift for all of us. Above all, the most precious things are our friendship between buddy, OC and EPs has chance to get closer and closer.

I can’t sell China as being a perfect experience, free of worries. But, if you want an adventure and a chance to change your mind about the world’s biggest, oldest and possibly the most powerful nation on Earth, I highly recommend going yourself.Those 35 days in Xiamen of my life have been truly challenging and made my life more meaningful & made me more stronger. Helping and building dreams of those kids during summer camps, Telling Chinese people about my culture. Building relationship with Chinese and Taiwanese friends and so much. Going Helens, Phobe, Zhongshan Road, Xiamen Beaches. Much More. Talk about Food, Amazing Milk Tea, Beef noodles, Beef rice. Never ended noodles and rice… This allowed me to become more culturally aware and accepting of other people. Precaution:1.Due to the program time setting in June to August , the local temperature could be quite high. The daily temperature varies from 25.0 to 30.0.Be sure that you have measures to prevent sunburn.2.The program is focused on the traditional culture experience and culture communication rather than travel. Be sure that you know this.3.If there is anything that you are allergic to or any dietary restrictions please let us know first.4.The political statement in XM is quite stable and the natives are quite kind. Be sure that you are also kind.
