hesitation squeeze
1. n. [Well Workover and Intervention]
A technique used in squeezecementingwhereby a portionof the slurryis pumped, then pumping stops to expose theslurry to differential pressureagainst the zone of interest instages over a period from several minutes to severalhours. This pressure, higher than necessary for fluidmovement, is applied to force the cementslurry into thearea requiring repair. This staged procedure is repeated
until all the slurry has been pumped or until no furtherslurry can be placed into the treatment zone. The cementremaining in the zone forms an effective hydraulic sealwith a high compressive strength.
