It is against the law to not stop your vehicle for a school bus. Our school buses carry precious cargo – our children. Our residents should always be alert and drive with caution around school buses and bus stops. Children, especially younger kids and ones on bikes, can make sudden unpredictable moves. DRIVE SLOW. Parents should also go over safety tips with their children to make sure they are safe on and around school buses and bus stops. There is nothing worth rushing over that could result in the death of your child, or your neighbor’s child. Drive Slow, and be cautious around bus stops and school busses. Drive safe everyone! Drivers swerving around school busses and driving erratically around school busses and bus stops will be reported to the police! Dog Poop is out of control. Even worse some pet owners have picked up the waste only to drop it on the sidewalk. Many of our children play in areas where there is pet waste. The CDD has placed some signs around the community, and is even planning to install waste stations. However signage alone won’t alleviate the problem. It is the responsibility of each pet owner to show common courtesy to the rest of his neighbors by cleaning up after his pet. It is not only a condition within the HOA Covenants it is a crime not to pick up after your pet in the City of Tampa. If you see someone who doesn’t pick after his pet please notify the HOA or TPD. This is your community and we all have to pitch in to make it safe and clean. The HOA will make it a point to fine pet owners who do not clean up after their pets. Adult Art Group The first adult Art Group met on January 9th, with two acrylic painters and two watercolorists for an enjoyable open lab. A still life was set up, and kids playing outside made for good sketching. If you are a sketch artist or painter, plan to join us weekly in the fitness center on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. Keep up with changes on Facebook: Heritage Isles Social Events, and Nextdoor.com “painting”

CDD February 2019 Update

The CDD board and our legal counsel have been working with the city of Tampa to modify our gate agreement. The initial meeting took place back in October to discuss what could been done to modify our existing agreement to fit our needs. Several drafts with these changes have been presented to the city and we are awaiting their response. The process has taken longer than we anticipated and we are hopeful to get these changes done soon.

New wind screens and tennis nets have been installed. We are looking into having new lines installed and improving the drainage on the courts.

The pool slide resurfacing was completed. The entire surface was sanded down and repainted. The waterfall on the kiddie pool was also repainted.

This time of year our mowing cycles have been adjusted and will not be mowed as much as in the summer months. Our landscape company will be working on lifting the canopies of the common area trees. Just a reminder that if you bring a guest to use any of the CDD amenities that you must remain with your guest during their visit. Signing them in and then leaving is not permitted.

The golf course is extremely busy this time of year. If you are interested in playing or have guest in from out of town, tee times can be made two weeks in advance.
