“An Acadia education is an experience defined by people and place,

and our setting is among the most beautiful in Canada.

We are all trustees of this campus and have a shared responsibility

for its preservation and enhancement for future generations.”

– Raymond E. Ivany, Acadia President and Vice-Chancellor

Remember where you started.

Matthew Rios (’14) “Acadia University is a once-in-a-lifetime institution. Through its historic buildings, beautiful campus and committed faculty and staff, it’s a place that gives all of us so much, and truly shapes and defines our lives. My life wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t come to this institution and I feel that I have an obligation to give back and ensure that this experience is possible for future students. That sense of responsibility and attachment is what defines this wonderful community.”

A.G. (Drew) Peck (’68, ’75) “During my career at Acadia, which involved constructing and maintaining the campus infrastructure, I was always struck by the foresight of those who came before. Acadia is fortunate to have retained many of the early buildings which have been preserved through often challenging times in her history. The building names reflect a select few that represent the many who through their efforts promoted Acadia. If we want to continue to provide the Acadia legacy of the sense of place that is so familiar to generations of Acadia families we must invest in maintaining, preserving and updating the infrastructure.”

Rosa Ochola (’10) “I am an Acadia alumna and I am very grateful for my experiences here in this lovely setting and the chance to be a part of the Acadia community. As an international student, my dream of obtaining a university degree became a reality because of the staff members in the financial aid office and several individual faculty members from the Faculty of Arts. It is wonderful that all alumni, current students, staff and faculty view Acadia as a family, whether or not we are still here. As luck would have it, not only did I graduate from Acadia, but I am still working here, thanks to Acadia’s commitment to supporting people from all cultures.”

Heritage Acadia gives you an opportunity to contribute directly to the environment that was integral to your personal growth and development, and in which our students live and learn today.

As our 175th anniversary approaches, it is timely to reflect on the importance of the campus itself to so many generations of Acadia students.

Whether it was a residence room or the gym, a favourite classroom or library carrel, the quad or the best seat in Convocation Hall, our unique setting and striking buildings represent an unforgettable part of the Acadia experience.

Now, you can help to ensure that our campus is protected and improved for those who follow in your footsteps, and that one of Canada’s oldest universities remains one of its finest.

Please join us. Make your gift to Heritage Acadia today. With your help, we will preserve and protect the beautiful campus and buildings that are a part of Acadia’s proud heritage.

Thank you!
