FAQ 39

Dear HELLA MEDIA Users,

We have now completely revamped the HELLA MEDIA database. So what has changed? First of all, quite clearly the name. From now on, the new database will be known as the “HELLA MEDIA CENTER” and can be accessed at the new address of www.hella-media.com. The new, smart look is quite striking at the very first glance: The asset data management system is presented in a new and refreshing guise but nevertheless continues to include many familiar, tried-and-tested elements. However, this is not the only innovation. The HELLA MEDIA CENTER stands out in sharp relief thanks to its countless new functions. These include additional filter criteria and also extended collection management aimed at achieving even better collaboration possibilities. It is the aim of this handout to make you familiar with all the basic functions found in the new system. And we hope you thoroughly enjoy using the exciting facilities now on offer.Your HELLA MEDIA Team

FILE NAMING

Every file which is set up in HELLA MEDIA has to be named in accordance with a predetermined system. It is imperative that this file name is allocated to the relevant file before the file is uploaded into the database and before it appears as an original asset name. Below you will find an overview of individual attributes which may be given, together with some examples of file naming.

HELLA IMAGERY

In all images there should always be reflected two universal and characteristic principles: partnership and an attentive focus on a particular issue. These rules apply exclusively for the design and utilization of images for HELLA. Joint Ventures or partners can under certain circumstances have other design defaults. (For more details please refer to www.hella.com/corporatedesign)

Portraits and scenes involving members of staff are to be taken at eye level

Natural and / or authentic-looking blurring is permitted, e.g. with motifs involving people. Sharp focus is always directed on the key message of the motif.

The picture‘s message makes up the central motif. This is to be framed by quiet, two-dimensional pictorial elements. (However the central motif does not have to be located in the actual or mathematical center of the picture. Asymmetrical image compositions are also possible.)

Light, sheer and muted colors in the two-dimensional part of the image, with gray tones leaning toward coolness. Bright, vivid flashes of color are reserved for the key message of the motif.

High depth of field

Natural, calm lighting atmosphere for pictures shot in the dark (twilight preferred to the black of night)

In addition to presenting products in action (for this the above-mentioned rules apply), there are two other possibilities for product portrayal. In both cases the products are to have a natural-looking shadow and are to be photographed frontally or diagonally from the left.

Cut-out on a white background Cut-out on a gray gradient background (Distinction between day and night photographs)

DO’S

| 3534HELLA MEDIA CENTER – HANDOUT

Page 15: HELLA MEDIA CENTER HANDOUT · AM-3 Silvia Wegner • Data Management A-DM Uwe Pohl • Corporate Communications HCC-CC David Schwarzelmüller ROLES AND RIGHTS

HELLA IMAGERY

Surfaces in intensive colors

Compositions which convey too high a degree of nonchalance (in the sense of negligence or coolness) and too much of a relaxed feeling (in the sense of laziness, lethargy).

Extreme perspectives which severely distort objects

No jet black pictorial elements. Even in dark areas it should still be possible to recognize slight outlines (contours)

Racist or sexually discriminating picture content

Extreme blurring should not be used as a stylistic means

Arrangements of several product illustrations taken from various angles are to be avoided

DONT’S

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON MOVING PICTURE DESIGNPlease note that the above-mentioned image guidelines are also to be observed when making films and videos so that the viewer can immediately and easefully associate such visuals with the company. An appropriate intro or outro and / or a permanently visible HELLA logo can be helpful in this regard. This data is deposited in the Download area of the Corporate Design tool box.

In order to receive final release, films always have to be submitted to the Department of Corporate Communication (HCC-CC).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FAQ

➔ No new categories can be created ➔ All media elements are to be completely and sustainably indexed and fitted with filters so that images can be easily located at a later date

➔ The forms granting permission for the photographs have to be filled out and their usufructuary rights are to be observed

How do I get a login to the HELLA MEDIA CENTER?You are able to create a new User Account on the homepage below the login area. Before you can begin using the account, it has to be activated by an Administrator. You will receive notification about this by email. Important: HELLA employees can automatically log in and therefore do not have to apply for a separate account. In such a case the access name is the SAP username, the password the Internet password.

What can I do if I have forgotten my password?Under the Login area, you will also find the function “Reset Pass-word” After input of your username, you will receive a link by email, which will enable you to select a new password yourself.

Which user roles are available? An overview of the individual user roles and their accompanying rights can be found on Page 4 of this handout.

I would like to set up content. How can I do this?Only users who have been given the role of Editor or Administra-tor can set up content. If you are not yet an Editor, this role has to be assigned to your account. Such a change in role can only be applied for personally by contacting A-M3 (Silvia Wegner) and A-DM (Uwe Pohl). I am experiencing representation problems on my computer. Records are not being correctly displayed. What can be the cause of this? First of all, please ensure that your Internet browser is not out of date. Many display problems can often be very simply solved by updating the browser. When updating, please always use the current browser version of Firefox or that of the InternetExplorer. Should you have any queries as to how this can be installed on your computer, please contact the IT Support Team.

I am looking for a certain image that is most certainly in the HELLA MEDIA CENTER but which is not being displayed. What can I do?Some illustrations are located in a locked area because, for example, their utilization is restricted. Only users enjoying certain roles can access such an area.
