HEAVY VEHICLE PARKING ON ROADS IN LOGAN CITY LOCAL LAW NO. 7 (Parking) 2003 JANUARY 2019 logan.qld.gov.au This fact sheet outlines Council’s local law for regulating heavy vehicle parking on roads in Logan City. Under this local law, a heavy vehicle must not stop on a length of road in a built up area or in a public place for longer than one hour, unless it is dropping off or picking up goods for the total time when the vehicle is stopped; or unless it is permitted to do so in certain streets or areas or by an offcial traffc sign. Defnitions Heavy vehicle means a vehicle with a GVM of more than 4.5 tonnes. Built-up area means an area where a vehicle is parked and in which there are buildings on land next to the road, or there is street lighting, at intervals not over 100m for a distance of at least 500m or, if the road is shorter than 500m, for the whole road. GVM (gross vehicle mass) means the maximum loaded mass of a vehicle shown on the vehicle’s compliance plate. Public place means trust land; a reserve; or Council owned or occupied premises. This fact sheet outlines Council’s

local law for regulating heavy vehicle

parking on roads in Logan City.

Under this local law, a heavy vehicle must not stop on a length of road in a built up area or in a public place for longer than one hour, unless it is dropping off or picking up goods for the total time when the vehicle is stopped; or unless it is permitted to do so in certain streets or areas or by an offcial traffc sign.

Defnitions

Heavy vehicle means a vehicle with a GVM of more than 4.5 tonnes.

Built-up area means an area where a vehicle is parked and in which there are buildings on land next to the road, or there is street lighting, at intervals not over 100m for a distance of at least 500m or, if the road is shorter than 500m, for the whole road.

GVM (gross vehicle mass) means the maximum loaded mass of a vehicle shown on the vehicle’s compliance plate.

Public place means trust land; a reserve; or Council owned or occupied premises.

Road means a local government road and a state-controlled road.
