ST-5 with MigraStemTM contains soy. Some people say that they have heard that soy is “bad

for our health.” What can you tell us about soy and ST-5?

The issue with soy is not new, and — as is the case with many issues concerning nutrition — it is plagued with misinforma-tion. There is one undeniable fact: Throughout history, Japanese people have had more people living to over 100 years old per 100,000 population than anywhere else in the world, and people there have been reported to live healthier and more

youthful lives, even into old age.

One of the staples of the Japanese diet is soy! So stating that soy is bad for health does not really match historical records. On the other hand, to say that all the con-cerns about soy are unfounded is also in-correct, as “westernized soy” can be very different from the soy historically used by the Japanese people. The main message here is: All soy is not equal. This means we need to gain a better understanding of the situation involving soy if we don’t want to turn away from some very real health benefits of soy because of the hazards produced by our westernized methods of

large-scale food production and processing.

Going back to the basics The basic issue with soy is very simple. Like any other grain and legume, soy con-tains enzyme inhibitors. Grains and leg-umes have been designed by Mother Na-ture to stay dormant until the conditions are right to sprout and blossom. This includes ample water and warmth. When a grain or legume is soaked in water at a temperature above roughly 65-70˚ F, the water dissolves the enzyme inhibitors present in the grain. Then the enzymatic machinery can get into

action to trigger the sprouting process.

Grains and legumes have differing concentrations of these enzyme inhibitors. Soy happens to be one of the legumes with the highest amount of enzyme inhibitors. The enzyme inhibitors are present in the germ and can be eliminated either by re-moving the germ or through fermentation. Historically, the most commonly-used re-moval method has been fermentation, in

soy because we wanted soy in our prod-uct; we included this very specific soy be-cause of the health benefits that have been associated with it over the years. The formula for ST-5 contains 5 grams of soy

that yield less than a gram of soy protein.

I have been working in close collabora-tion with the owners of that farm in China for nearly 10 years, and I have collabo-rated with some of the research done with this product. It is currently used in a number of hospi-tals in Malaysia and Taiwan to provide strong nutrition for people in periods of recovery. Why do they use this spe-cific soy? Simply because of the results they have seen firsthand. This soy is not fermented, but a process has been developed to re-move both the germ and the hull, eliminat-ing the negative elements found in soy. There is a nearly 15-year history of con-suming this soy with a good history of

health benefits.

Once the whole story about soy is told, it becomes clear that when soy is proc-essed properly, it remains one of the key ingredients of a lifestyle that has been associated for centuries with health and longevity. A look into the library of the National Institute of Health provides infor-mation on many specific health benefits of soy. We at Stemtech want to assure you that the ingredients in all of our products have been selected because of the proven benefit each provides. ST-5 with Mi-graStem provides 5 grams of the benefi-cial ingredient soy as part of its powerful

formula.

Christian

the making of tempeh, natto, tamari and

tofu.

Like other products of fermentation, all the soy-based fermented products have a very strong aroma and unique texture that does not make them widely popular in the Western world. So to popularize tofu, for example, techniques have been developed to produce “soy milk” without the need for fermentation, and create the tofu com-monly found in the US today. The prob-lem with this tofu is that the enzyme inhibitors have not been deactivated.

Another problem with soy, as with other grains and legumes, is that it con-tains phytic acid, a compound that has a high affinity with various minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. Diets high in phytic acid can bring on mineral deficiency. Phytic acid is present in the hulls of nuts, seeds, and grains, and it is normally removed by soaking. (This is why it is recommended to soak any grain and beans at least overnight before cook-ing.) Unfortunately, this step takes time — and “time is money,” so many grains and beans, including soybeans, are processed without proper soaking. This is what leads to the mineral deficiency associated with consumption of soy in the Western hemi-

sphere.

So the “bottom line” is this: When prepared traditionally, with proper soaking and rinsing or by removing the hull, soy remains a great source of nu-trients. All the negative things you may have heard about soy come essentially from the “Westernized” way of processing

soy!

Soy and ST-5 with MigraStem

The soy present in ST-5 comes from a region of Northern China, at the foothills of the Himalayas, known for its rich soil. It is not “certified” organic because the very process of organic certification does not mean much in China. We did not select

Antioxidants & FreeAntioxidants & Free--RadicalsRadicals There are numerous anti-oxidant nutrients that scien-tists have identified. Some of the commonly known ones are vitamins C, E, and beta carotene, as well as selenium. Yet these are only a few of the indentified anti-oxidant nutrients.

As each anti-oxidant nutrient has a specialized role in the body, a good way to ensure that you are ingesting a wide variety of these very impor-tant antioxidant nutrients is to eat a broad spectrum of fruit and vege-tables each day. Think of this dietary sugges-tion in terms of color: Try to eat at least one fruit or vegetable from every color of the rainbow

each day.

tion. Lifestyle choices, in-cluding exposure to cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, ra-diation, sunlight and con-sumption of certain medica-tions — as well as eating fried foods and experiencing physical stress — can in-crease free-radicals within the body.

To combat the assault of free-radicals, our body has natural defense-mechanisms called antioxidants that de-activate these harmful at-tacks. Our eating habits can help to fuel the resistance to free-radicals, but we must choose what we eat wisely. Nutrients containing high levels of antioxidants are found in fruits and vegeta-bles, so diets providing plenty of these foods are best. Generally, the darker the color of the fruit or vegetable, the higher the

antioxidant value.

As we age or become increasingly exposed to the generators of free-radicals, we may overwhelm our body’s natural defenses against these attacks. It is, therefore, more important than ever for us to consume foods rich in antioxidants as we age.

Following our discussion from the last issue about Micro-Nutrients, we move onto Antioxidants. What ex-actly IS an antioxidant? Simply, an antioxidant is a substance that inhibits the destructive effects of oxida-tion. On a car, an antioxi-dant can prevent rust. On

fresh fruit, an an t i ox ida n t like lemon juice can pre-vent brown spots and blemishes if the skin is broken. And in your body, antioxidants fight harmful free-radicals.

What’s a

“Free-Radical?”

Our bodies produce metabolic by-products con-stantly, including when we breathe. When we inhale oxygen, we create oxygen by-products called oxygen free-radicals. Many activities that we participate in on a daily basis create even more free-radicals. If left un-checked, these free-radicals can wreak havoc on healthy cells and body tissues, caus-ing damage through oxida-

We have weekly meetings to train our team and to sup-port them as they develop their businesses. Leadership Pack. You increase your shares with each additional 5 Business Builders you enroll in a calendar month (2 shares for 10, 3 shares for 15, etc.). The only requirement: You, the enroller, must be on Autoship. Hypothetical example: If the BV from global FastStart Pack sales is 100,000, the pool is $10,000. If 50 enrollers qualify,

each share is $200!

And that’s only ONE of the pools Stemtech offers you. Here comes one for new distributors and their enrollers:

New Director Pacesetter Pool, with a 50% Match for Enrol-lers — Here’s a pool custom-made for a new distributors who achieve Director quickly, and it rewards their enrollers who help them get there. 12.5% of all BV from FastStart Packs sold globally in a calen-dar month funds this pool. To

qualify for one share of this pool, a new distributor must en-roll as a Business Builder (FastStart or Leadership Pack plus Autoship), then qualify as a Director by building wisely: en-rolling at least 5 personally sponsored Business Builders and have at least 10 customers and/or distributors in his/her organization with Autoship. As a new distributor, you have until the end of your first full calendar month to accomplish this qualifi-cation. (For example, if you enroll as a distributor on Sep-tember 6, you have until Octo-ber 31 to qualify!) Note: You must remain qualified as Direc-tor the next month, too (November, in our example). The maximum value of a share of the Pacesetter Pool is $3000.

The New Director Pacesetter Pool also rewards the Enroller of a new distributor who qualifies for the Pacesetter Pool… The enrol-

ler earns a 50% match of the share earned by his/her new Di-rector! (The maximum share for an enroller is $1500.)

And there’s still more…

Incentive Contest Pool — Each month, Stemtech will tuck away 2.5% of all BV from Fast-Start Packs sold globally to fund various incentive contests held during the year. The money accrues monthly, with the total accumulated pool paid out at least once a year. Keep your eyes open for the first Incentive Contest announcement, and

get ready to CASH IN!

With three Global Bonus Pools added to Stemtech’s already gen-erous Compensation Plan, we ex-pect our company’s growth to hit the stratosphere in the coming months. Come along for the ride, and you’ll have lots more cash in your pocket!
