HEALING YOUNG
PEOPLE’s COUNCIL
In January this year Healing YPC put on their sixth annual Pantomine, two
evenings of family entertainment in the village to brighten up a gloomy winter.
Over 45 young people performed, moved scenery, worked the lighting and
sound equipment and directed their Pantomime - Joe, and his amazing
technicolor beanstalk.
This year the show was produced and directed by members of the YPC. Once
again they did all the choreography, organised the costumes, props and scenery.
A huge thank you to Healing Primary and Healing Secondary schools for their
support in providing rehearsal space and a venue for the performances.
Thank you to our parent helpers, Gale and Paul Godfrey, Heidi Potter, Emmi
Garside and Duncan Winn. A special mention to Mr Crosby from Healing School
- a Science Academy who never thinks any of our ideas are bonkers and is
always a massive support and help to us.
The performance was, as always entertaining and funny, the whole cast had such
a wonderful time rehearsing and performing the show. I have so much pride in
these young people who are not all actors , singers or performers. They are so
dedicated and have such enthusiasm that I am always in awe of them.
The raffl e money for the two evenings will be donated to a project close to the
hearts of the YPC as four of its members are part of the group. Precious Angels
are a Lifestyle group who have of renovated the Garden of Remembrance at the
Princess Diana hospital and we are thrilled to be giving £250 to them to help
maintain it for the future.
Well done to all the cast and crew and thank you to those of you who came
along and enjoyed the show with us.

Volunteer coaches Needed
We have several young players that
have been training with us for a while
and are looking to progress to playing
matches in a team, however, they have
been unable to make this step forward
due to a lack of coaches.
Specifi cally, we are looking for a coach
to run the following teams for next
season:
• Under 7
• Under 8
• Girls U11/12
If you are interested or would like more
information please contact Richard
Winship 07933 769 796. Thanks
There have been a couple of
outstanding results recently. Our U9s
beat Discoveries Warriors, who hadn’t
been beaten since October, 3 – 2,
thanks to a late headed (a rarity at that
age) winner by Harry Jackson.
The U12 Lockit-Safe boys had a
superb penealty shoot-out cup victory
against league leaders, The Lounge.
The League, in their wisdom, insisted
the game be replayed as extra-time
hadn’t been played in accordance with
competition rules. Against the odds,
the boys won the re-match, ironically,
after extra-time.
As our U16s approach the business
end of the season they are involved in
a tense race for the League title with 5
teams currently separated by 3 points

Dear Householder,
Archaeology Project - Healing
The North East Lincolnshire Archaeology and Local History Society in October 2016
were contacted by Cambridge University’s “Access to Cambridge Archaeology”
to join them in a garden dig project to be undertaken in conjunction with local
schools, through Ormiston Maritime Academy, and a project has been arranged to
carry out a garden dig in Old Clee village in May, 2017. As part of this project we
would like to carry out a second dig in a village near to, but not closely attached
to Grimsby and after discussion, Healing seems a perfect choice with its location
and known history.
This project would give us the opportunity to carry out a larger scale project and
we would invite you to take part in this by agreeing to us to dig a one metre square
test pit at an agreed place in your garden.
This work would be undertaken by students and members of our Society, under
the direction of members of staff from Cambridge University and the schools
involved. We would also like you to have the opportunity to take an active part in
this should you wish.
On completion of the dig participating students will attend Cambridge University
and prepare a report on their work and fi ndings. This information will be available
to us locally and you will be provided with a copy of the report.
The project will be funded by “Access Cambridge Archaeology”, who with the
schools will be responsible for the students and to ensure the gardens are restored
to their pre-dig state on completion of the dig. Our Society in conjunction with
Emma Lingard will be the local contact and co-ordinators for the project. It is
proposed to carry out this work on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th June 2017.
If you would like to take part in this interesting project please contact me on 01472
236827. A meeting will be held to which all householders wanting to take part will
be invited. This will give us the opportunity to explain the project in great detail
and offer advice on archaeology excavation techniques.
Kind regards
Hon. Chairman

Parish Council Vacancies
Due to recent resignations of Cllr.
Hasthorpe, Cllr. Wilson and Cllr.
Dickerson, the Parish Council now
has 8 current casual vacancies on the
Council. The Council obviously needs
to consider coopting new members to
increase the member numbers. There
are two defi nite candidates who have
put themselves forward for March but
this will still leave existing vacancies.
The Parish Council would therefore ask
anyone who might have considered
joining the Council to come along to
its next meeting, Tuesday 14th March
at 7.00pm, see what the Council does,
meet the remaining members and think
about standing for cooption. Parish
Council members come from all walks
of life and a good cross selection of
residents, from those who are retired,
professionals to full time parents, help
shape the Council and form a good
representative body from people living
in our Village.
The meetings are always held on the
second calendar Tuesday of each
month up at the Village Hall and this
is the commitment members have
to make, to attend the majority of
the meetings. The Parish Council is
consulted on all highways matters, all
planning applications within the village
and as you may have read, is now taking
on the management of the local parks
within the Village. It also owns and
runs the Village Hall and owns several
land sites within the Village which it is
responsible for maintaining.
If you are interested but would like
an informal chat before attending a
meeting, please contact one of the
remaining Council members or the
Clerk for an informal, no-obligation
private chat.
