DATA TALKS : TODAY’S ECONOMIC DATA :
NEWS & RUMOURS: TRENDS & OUTLOOK – DATE: 02-JAN- 2019
Gold (Spot Dollar) major support =
$1254/$1227 & Resistance =
$1310/$1341.
Crude oil range (WTI)->$40 to $50.
Dollar ends strongest year since
2015 on defensive note: - The dollar
fell against the yen and euro in thin
year-end trading on Monday as
optimism about progress in the U.S.-
China trade dispute hurt its safe-haven
allure, but the greenback stayed on
track to log its strongest annual
performance in three years. While the
dollar has been relatively stable going
into the end of 2018, expensive
valuation, a flagging equity boom,
waning cash repatriation by U.S.
companies, and the possibility that the
U.S. Federal Reserve will not raise
interest rates as many times as
previously signaled pose a challenge for
the greenback.
Oil posts first year of losses since
2015: - Oil prices ended with full-year
losses for the first time since 2015, after
a desultory fourth quarter that saw
buyers flee the market over growing
worries about a supply glut and mixed
signals related to renewed U.S.
sanctions on Iran.
Natural Gas Price Fundamental Daily
Forecast – Prices Gap Lower on
Bearish Weather Concerns: - Traders
are looking for cold to return next week-
end, however, based on the current
price action, it looks as if they don’t
expect it to last very long. We could see
a few periodic short-covering rallies, but
without a support base, these rallies are
likely to be short-term in nature.
Gold Wraps up Year Just Above
$1,280: - Gold won't make it to $1,300
an ounce for 2018, falling less than $20
short of the target. But there's plenty of
potential for it to get there in the new
year. Gold's retreat at the highs came as
U.S. stocks cut some losses on what was
shaping to be their worst year since the
financial crisis.
