Do Not Log on to the computer as yourself!
Log on to: www.hastings.k12.mn.us Select SchoolView (Tab on the blue menu
bar) Select Staff Links Select Log in to I-Cue Enter your employee number and
password On the top select GradeBook
On the top tabs select Gradebook
Go to Set-Up Select Preferences
Verify your phone number
Verify your email address
If you use Custom Fields this is where you would enable them.
Check you rounding (always go out one more than you want to display)
Check if you want adjusted points Check your data entry (cursor) and sort Change your font size
In set up define your grading scale *if you have a different grading scale from last year you may copy that scale in a few minutes
Remember we can use up to 99 grading scales per class
We have a default grading scale and a pass fail grading scale set up.

If you have a student that would benefit from a Pass/Fail Grading Scale you will need to add it.
To use the pass/fail select add a new grading scale and select it in the drop down menu

Now that you have defined your grading scale you will need to assign it to that class or an individual within the class.
In set-up select Assign Grading Scale. Assign the grading scale to the entire
class or individual students
If you will be redefining the categories *default are: homework, quizzes and tests (and the hidden extra credit) you will make your changes here.
If you are bringing categories over from last year we will be addressing this next.
If you would like to copy information from last year (grading scales, categories and/or definitions) you will do that with the copy utility.
To access these different options, select Utilities
Under Utilities you can bring data over from last year by following these steps.
1.Select your Source year (08) 2.Select the Term 3.Select your Source Class 4.Apply the Source Class to the New
class
Below are descriptions of the other preformatted reports. To print these reports you will follow the same procedures as described for the Class Status Report.
Standard: This report shows the scores for all students with definitions grouped by categories.
Blank Roster: This report is similar to the report available in I-cue, but you can filter the information you would like to see
Wide: This report shows the scores for all students not grouped by category
Missing Definition: This report will show you all definitions with an A or M status
Statistics: This report gives you a summary of your students, class, and definitions
Description: A class Status Report is an individual progress report for a specific subject.
To begin, go to the top menu bar and select Reports
Click on the tab Preformatted
To select a Class Status Report (Individual Progress Report), Select the report in the drop down menu.
Select the class (subject) for which you are generating the report.
Apply any filtering, format or sort options you would like. The options that are available for this report will be in dark blue.
After you have set your options you have a few more options. You may:1.Save Options & Run (recommended for the first time you use the report).2.Run3.Restore Saved Options4.Save Options5.Click: Save Options & Run
Warning: (Security Settings) If when you run a report you get a light yellow line on the top, right click and always allow pop ups from ties.k12.mn.us
If in your filtering options you selected: Select Students, when you run the report you will generate a nice “snap shot” of your students and their current status in the class. Here you can determine which students you would like to run a report for or on the bottom you can select all students.
Note: If you do not want the headers and footers showing up on your reports, you will need to go into your page set up and blank out the header and the footer lines. It is also suggested to change all of your margins to .5
You will need to reset this on your classroom computer.
Run your report using selected students Check: Include this student in the
printed reports (check box) Print or print checked students only (note you
can also generate a report by clicking on the individual student name)
Find the printer Icon on the top and select print preview (the first time) and then print
Choose your printer and then print Close your window to return to the
Report Page
For non strand based classes you can submit directly into Report Card if you:
Go to Utilities Select Submission Select the class/subject you want to
submit In the Action Box pull down the drop down
menu select Report Card Submit to Report Card
Option 1: Return to Grade Submission Utility. You will use this if you want to continue submitting your other classes AND DO NOT INTEND TO INCLUDE COMMENTS.
Option 2: View Grades in I-Cue Mark Reporting and this option allows you to add comments and override the system grades. Please make a print out of this page if you have elected to override the grade (this is used as a cross reference if the report card grade does not match the electronic GradeBook)
You may re-submit if you see an error and want to make changes in your GradeBook. When you come back into this window you will see the last time that you submitted grades.
