Harmony National Round 2016 “Leadership is not about just a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration.” - Robin Sharma The Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF), organized the national round of the annual Harmony Fest, in Scottish High International School, Gurgaon, on the 26 th and 27 th of November 2016. 13 students of Delhi Public School Gurgaon along with two teachers Ms Shreya jain and Ms Archana Singh represented the school in events such as Leaders Club workshop, debate, chess competition, art competition and movie making. Pulak Agarwal and Ishnoor Singh from class XI participated in the Leaders Club Workshop, which involved a very thought-provoking discussion on bringing about a change. The workshop also entailed planning a surprise, involving spreading a message for all. The students planned out a series of challenges related to various issues they wanted to generate awareness about and plant the seed of initiating change among the leaders gathered on the occasion. The Debate- Sense, Reason and Intellect - comprised of two rounds. Vaibhav Gupta and Rhea Bisaria spoke against the motion“Art and Artists should be protected from politics”. They won and qualified the team for the second round, where Yagnesh Sharma and Shubh Chaddha spoke for the motion “Nationalism is Elusive and is merely a political ideology”. The students won the first prize and Shubh Chadha bagged the Best Speaker award. Anusha Choudhury participated as the interjector Parth Arora (class VIII )and Chirag Tayal( class IXA) and participated in the Chess competition Mind Games. Yashita Malik (class IX F)participated in Magic with Colours- the art competition. Aryan Dhingra, Ayush Kaushik from class XI and Aryan Bhatia from class X participated in the Movie Making event, where they made a movie on ‘What If’ It was an enriching and yet fun-filled event for all and the students returned with a greater understanding of being a ‘global citizen’.
