National Geographic- Traveler
Newsstand VisitPopular Science because innovation magazines are one of
the type that I read.
National Geographic because the central image with the cover lines are aesthetically pleasing.
National Geographic's Traveler has the best photography and design because of the fonts, central image, and yellow border which is National Geographic’s signature look.
Popular Mechanics’ magazine had the best articles and a table of contents that intrigued me because I want to be an engineer.

TravelerThis magazine is mainly about the Top 20 places to
visit in the world. San Francisco being the top and Port Antonio, Jamaica being the twentieth.
A man that drove cross-country with his grandfather’s journal, his dad, and a camera
The oldest shops, restaurants, factories, and clubs in Philadelphia
Northwestern China’s Altay Mountains
Photo contest winners
Central ImageCentral images are photos of landscapes, people are not
present in most of them but a building is. They are mostly extreme long shots.
The photo is taken outside
The masthead is normally white but in some issues it is black or blue. All the magazines have a yellow border along the perimeter and has the National Geographic logo on top of the “T” in Traveler. The main cover line is on the left third while the other cover lines are on the right third
Favorite Cover The grey makes the yellow more
noticeable
The person walking along the rocks makes my feel that I can be there and I am able to do what he is doing.
The words “A Scottish” are yellow which pops out and tells the reader what this issue is about
The blue hue for the cover lines pop out but not enough to draw my attention away from the main cover line
Table of ContentsThey say “National Geographic Traveler” above the
word “Contents”
They have about 3-6 articles
The photo on the cover is given credit and tells the reader what page to turn to so they can read about it
The photo is a calming photo that draws the attention of the viewer
The text doesn’t interfere with the main object of the photo, it goes around the object
Two-Page SpreadThe two page spreads both have one large image with
people in them and they are taken outdoors mostly.
The text goes around the photos because the photos are one of the main parts of the articles
