In California, the Harbor Court San Francisco has completed its $10-million renovation, which included 131 redesigned guestrooms and suites, and a brand-new lobby.

For the redesign, Harbor Court San Francisco worked with Jackie McGee of Perkins+Will to design the hotel’s new interiors.

The hotel’s lobby now has a blue, cream and chocolate color palette; new bookshelves; and a grand fireplace offset by mismatched chairs surrounding a communal working table. The lobby has flexible “Space to Create” co-working areas, including sofas by the fireplace and glass-enclosed meeting rooms for when privacy is preferred.

The lobby also has the new 24-hour Harbor Court Café.

The new guestrooms and suites have a modern style with an edgy vibe. The revamped rooms and suites use a palette of charcoal, chestnut and chocolate tones that complement the new urban-industrial lighting and décor pieces. There is a blue lumbar pillow on the bed, tying the color with the hotel’s waterfront location. Renovated bathrooms now have walk-in showers with

Malin + Goetz bath products. All guest rooms have Wi-Fi connectivity, HDTVs, Soundfreaq Bluetooth music alarm systems and Tuch Tablet digital directories promoting a green environment. Ranging from 165 square feet to 365 square feet, guestrooms have bay, city or courtyard views.

The Penthouse Suite has floor-to-ceiling windows with bay views. The penthouse has a connecting guestroom, creating a two-bedroom suite.

Harbor Court now also has Ozumo, a restaurant with a sake lounge. For groups, Harbor Court can host meetings and events with room blocks and Ozumo’s private dining space for up to 30 people.

Positioned in SoMa (or South of Market), Harbor Court is surrounded by San Francisco tech giants and within walking distance to various attractions in the city, like the Embarcadero, the Ferry Building and Exploratorium.

Todd Metzger is the general manager of Harbor Court San Francisco
