DESCRIPTION

After breakfast, we will head out on the 12 kmtrek through the thick forests of Govind NationalPark. The Har Ki Dun valley route will be arefreshing balance between steep climbs andleisure level walks. The route, often used byvillagers to lead their cattle into grazing pastures,will embark us on an interesting journey throughforests which will give us ample opportunities tospot birds and unique flowers. A 45-minute walk,passing by small streams and a temple, the firstmeadows will welcome you with open arms andplayful streams. Overnight stay in tents at Har KiDun, altitude of 3566 m.

Day 03: Osla - Har Ki Dun (3566m) 5-7 hr Trek

ITINERARY

The trip will start from Dehradun Railway Station with a morning pick up at 7.00 AM. We willdrive to Sankri, via Mussoorie, alongside the Yamuna and Tons rivers. The drive also passesby beautiful pine forests. On reaching Sankri, we will explore the scenic hamlet to preparefor the trek that lies ahead and overnight stay at Sankri.

After breakfast, a short drive to Taluka village willtake us to the beginning of our 15 km trekthrough the forest trails of Gangaad. At first, thetrek descends, takes a left turn to let us walkalongside the river Rupin and then lovesupwards through an enticing forest of Chestnut,Walnut and Willow trees. Our destination, Oslavillage is at an altitude of 2650 m and houses anold temple of Duryodhan from Mahabharata.Overnight stay in tents.

DAY 01 : DEHRADUN – SANKRI (1920m) Drive/200 kms/8 hrs

Day 02: Sankri - Taluka - Osla (2860m) 40minDrive / 5-6hr Trek

This day will mark our return journey toOsla village with scenic landscapeskeeping us company. The downhill trek isfun and easy, covers 11 km and takesabout 3-4 hours. Overnight stay in resthouses or tents.

From Osla village, an early morning trekwill take us to Seema and then to Taluka.This trek back to Taluka will give usabundant opportunities to take arefreshing bath in tantalizing cool waterof the many streams we cross or pass by.Overnight stay in hotel at Sankri.

We will depart for Dehradun, postbreakfast and can choose to do a briefstopover at Mussoorie, one of India’smost visited and scenic hill stations.Arrive in Dehradun by around lateafternoon 6.00 PM. The glorious tripends here.

Day 05: Har Ki Dun - Osla / 4-5 hr

Day 06: Osla – Sankri / 4-5 hr

Day 07 : Sankri – Dehradun / 7-8 hr

The fourth day is the most exciting part of the Har Ki Dun trek as after breakfast, we will continueon a trek to Juandhar glaciers, at an altitude of 4300 m dotted with white snow and grasspatches. A complete contrast to the grass you had been trekking on till now, Juandhar glacierswill add morains, scree, glaciers and the stunning Swarga rohini peaks to your trip and yourphoto album! This part of the trek will require efforts as it is a long walk with uneven scene andmoraine terrain but it is totally worth it. Return to Har Ki Dun the same day and overnight stay.

Day 04: Har Ki Dun - Jaundhar Glacier (4300m) -Har Ki Dun / 7-8 hr Trek

We use quality Quechua Arpenaz XL3 tent. These tents are Water

resistance, Waterproof and validated in the laboratory test mission.

Area under roof breathable polyester double prevents water droplets

resulting from condensation, which is deposited on the inner face of the

double roof. The ventilation element in the spare one and two

ventilation parts on both sides of the entry to limit condensation and air

fresheners.

This sleeping bag is comfortable in temperature −5˚C/Limit temperature

11˚C & Can be twinned to sleep 2 people. Link a right zip bag to a leG zip

bag. Inner fabric: 100% polyamide. Outer fabric: 100% polyester insert:

100% polyamide and wadding: 100% polyester. The minimum

temperature at which a user feels comfortable overall − neither hot nor

cold − while huddled up in the sleeping bag (as determined for an

average male user under normal conditions of use).

A crampon is a traction device that is attached to footwear to improve

mobility on snow and ice during ice climbing. Not only are crampons

used during ice climbing, but they are also used for secure travel on

snow and ice, such as crossing glaciers, snowfields and ice fields,

ascending snow slopes, and scaling ice−covered rock.

This is very important thing to have hiking pole during trek. It give a

support to Hiker all along trek with comfort. This high quality pole is

made of durable light weight aluminum − Poles extend from 25.5 to 53

inches (approximately). Poles contain anti−shock springs for more

comfortable trekking. Durable tips for less for giving surfaces, rubber

foot for flat surfaces and optional snow disk for use on soGer ground

coverings.
