    LETTER FROM PANHELLENIC PRESIDENT

To be successful in life, women need to be able to depend on one anotherfor support and advancement. Sororities are a great vehicle to do just this. Greekwomen are driven, scholarly, involved and value personal relationships. Alone, a Greekwoman is determined; together, Greek women are an ambitious force of nature.

The Hanover Panhellenic Council enables our sororities to meet on neutralgroundits a place where they can discuss ideas and concerns and gain supportfrom fellow Greek women. Open and honest communication is necessary in order to

build strong relationships between peopleand Panhellenic Council helps facilitate

this.Although our campus has four distinct sororities, we all value similar things:

scholarship, service and sisterhood. The Panhellenic Council is the strongest and mostinfluential Greek organization on campus because it draws from the best qualities ofeach house. As a result, the Panhellenic Council has the power to share Greek valuesand demonstrate them through our involvement, action and events.

Being a leader on the Panhellenic Executive Council and in Chi Omegahas helped me grow in many ways. I have never felt as secure and confident in myself

and my abilities as I do now. I am surrounded by love and support. I am surrounded by

role models. I am surrounded by positive, inspiring women. Having that feeling ofsecurity and strength has helped me learn and discover things about myself I didntknow. Going Greek and being a part of a team of amazing leaders has had such apositive impact on me that I want other women to have that same experience.

Formal recruitment is about young women finding a place where they feelthey belong; a home, a haven, a family. Every woman deserves to live in an

environment where she can thrive and become the best person she can be. That isthe true purpose of Greek life; I encourage you to explore it.

    LETTER FROM PANHELLENIC

    VP OF RECRUITMENT

Our four years on this beautiful campus seem to fly by quickly. As aHanovarian, there is never a dull moment, and our extracurricular schedules can be asoverflowing as our academic schedules. But wouldnt it be awesome to go througheach busy day of college with a huge support team? A group of empowered, brightwomen just like yourself to cheer you on through the tough times and celebrate with

you during the fun times? Women who hold strong values for themselves and theirorganization? A group that meets this description is waiting for you! Going Greek ishow I found my safety net for college. When I need someone to talk with, cry with,

laugh with, I have four dozen sisters by my side.I am particularly fond of the Panhellenic Community here at Hanover

College because of the undeniable dedication of the affiliated women to improve thiscampus through community service, personal development, and wellness activities. I

know that when I graduate, I can look back and be proud of the community withwhich I was involved with.

If you are having difficulty deciding whether or not to go through FormalRecruitment, my advice is to consider what you have to lose. The recruitment processis over a five day span during which you will make lasting friendships and havemeaningful conversations. For right now, I encourage you to get to know affiliatedwomen that are in your classes, that you see walking down the street, or that your

Recruitment Counselor has introduced you to. Womens Formal Recruitment is apositive and memorable experience at Hanover and by the end, you could have ahouseful of sisters welcoming you with open arms.

    Sincerely,Hayley Wigman

    LETTER FROM

    HANOVER COLLEGE PRESIDENT

    Dear Prospective Greek Members:

I am writing this letter to encourage you to take a close look at Greek lifeas a possible experience for you to have at Hanover College.

Both my husband and I were members of Greek organizations (neither hisfraternity nor my sorority are on this campus so I can be completely unbiased about

any particular group). We found our experience to be extremely rewarding providinga lifetime of memories and relationships. There is something very special about joining

other women or men in a lifetime of sisterhood or brotherhood.

This is just another way to establish a support system for yourself while youwork hard to succeed. Having your sisters and brothers help you prepare for classes, choose majors, and get ready for exams and senior projects, is a significantadvantage.

It also gives you an established social life without having to build a socialnetwork on your own. Living in a Greek house provides a wonderful setting for thoserelationships to happen naturally.

While I always tell prospective students that this is a campus where Greekmembership is not a requirement, I do think it is a special experience for those whotake advantage of it.

Give it a close look and decide for yourself.

    LETTER FROM GREEK LIFE ADVISOR

    Greetings from Fraternity/Sorority Life!

I am so excited that you are considering joining our community. For over100 years, at Hanover and campuses around the world, sororities have provided a

place for women to care for each other throughout their collegiate experience andbeyond. Sororities were founded at a time when women were thought of as less thanmen, unable to excel academically or do much beyond care for home and children. These organizations brought women together to provide community and to show that

women are just as capable as men in the collegiate environment. Now, they continueto bring women together to care for and support one another.

Our chapters certainly demonstrate this care. In any of our chapters, youwill be surrounded by women who will push you to be a better person. Within eachchapter, you will find a wide variety of activities and interests, ranging from theintellectual and developmental to the fun and silly. Behind all of these activities, youwill find core chapter values values that dont change and that all members are heldto and encouraged to grow in. Outside the chapters, the entire Panhellenic

community, guided by an executive council, puts on programming to further

connections and development.Welcome to Panhellenic life. I hope you will keep an open mind as you go

through the process. Think about what you care about and the woman you hope tobe and seek out the women who will support you as you grow. I can say withconfidence that no matter what chapter you join, you will be supported and elevateyour experience in college and beyond.

    Sincerely,

    Matt Deeg
