Bulroc’s foundations were established in a 500 foot square building under the name of ‘Weaver and Hurt.’ The company’s potential was soon recognised by John Hurt who quickly took the opportunity to buy out his partner within 1 year of trading. Continued growth and customer demand required a 2,000 square foot unit on Storforth Lane Industrial Estate in Chesterfield where the company continued to expand. From that point the company went from strength to strength, creating innovative drilling tools and solutions.

In 1984 Bulroc made a significant investment in plant and equipment necessary for the design and manufacture of a range of button bits to suit not only Bulroc hammers but other popular designs of the DTH Hammers. At the same time the company developed the world’s first Reverse Circulation Hammer for the mineral exploration industry, a system that is widely used for gold exploration.

During 1985, Bulroc introduced a range of Eccentric Overburden Drilling Systems commonly known as Burlroc ODS for the continuous casing of holes through unstable ground conditions.

Today Bulroc continues to produce products in a modern factory located in the heart of England. Bulroc’s products are produced using the latest computer technology in its design and manufacturing facilities. Incredibly the firm’s history stretches back over 45 years and during this time the company has acquired a wealth of knowledge.

As a result, their practical expertise has been strongly acknowledged within the industry on a worldwide scale. The company has a policy of continuous product development aimed at improving the existing range whilst at the same time introducing new products to increase and extend the extensive range of applications for Down Hole Percussive Rock Drilling.

Hyper HammersThe fi rm’s high quality range of DTH hammers to suit a wide range of drilling applications. The hammers are a valveless design which operates over a wide range of pressures. Simple in design, with minimal components, manufactured from the highest quality materials the Hyper Hammer is a popular solution for a variety of applications across the world.

Valved HammersThe companies BR range of hammers are designed for high performance at low operating pressures. Ideal for small diameter drilling where generally only low operating air pressures are available.

Large Diameter Hammers These hammers have been specifi cally developed for the construction industry using either, conventional type button bits or, more generally, with Overburden Drilling Systems.

Thread GreaseIt’s always recommended to use an effective thread compound when making up thread joints on your hammer and drill tubes. Bulroc’s anti seize grease or ‘Copper coat’ which a frictional coefficient of 0.15 is specially engineered to withstand high air pressures and temperatures encountered in DTH hammer drilling.

Eccentric Overburden Drilling SystemsBulroc’s proven and simple two part ODS system is developed for the continuous casing of small to medium size holes (Casing 114.3mm to 254mm OD) The eccentric bit is locked into the bit holder with a double ‘Seloc’ pin arrangement and can be removed easily when the bit needs regrinding or replacing. For extended life the system drive shoulder can be rebuilt as detailed in the maintenance and operating manual. These systems are available as standard to suit Bulroc DTH hammers however they can also fit most other types of DTH hammer in the market today.

Drill TubesBulroc supplies a wide range of drill tubes, all manufactured from high quality seamless pipe.

Hammer Lubrication AccessoriesThe Bulroc hammer oil known as Bulroc T320 is blended to give effective lubrication under demanding conditions. It’s available in type grade 30 and 50 depending on the ambient temperature and both in mineral and biodegradable versions.

Oil LubricatorsMany operators see the lubrication as the ‘Life blood’ of your DTH hammer so the use of an in-line oil lubricator unit is extremely important to achieve optimum drilling efficiency. Bulroc can offer you a wide range of lubricators such as 5L, 10L, 15L and also larger units 34L and 100L capacity with industry standard connections.

HD Shock AbsorbersBulroc’s heavy duty range of shock absorbers have been tailored to help protect your overall drill string investment.

Concentric Overburden Drilling SystemsBulroc’s CDS-R system is ideal for casing holes through loose overburden, down and into solid bedrock. It’s been designed with ground engineering applications in mind and easily paired with Bulroc’s range of larger diameter DTH hammers. It’s simple to replace cutting ring and segments and the system can help lower overall maintenance costs and even improve hole alignment. With sizes starting at the CDS 235R for use with our Hyper 81 hammer through to the CDS 745R which can be mounted on our Hyper 241 model.

Also in the overburden system range is our patented CDS-RS which shares similar characteristics to the standard CDS-R however uniquely uses Bulroc’s new air flow system. This system is for use where minimum foundation or sub structure disruption is essential. It’s Venturi effect vacuums drilled material away from the front cutting face and diverts the exhaust air back up the hole. This greatly reduces the volume of air that would otherwise pass into the ground where it could cause potential ground stabilization problems.

Button BitsBulroc offer a wide range of high quality Down the hole Button Bits suitable for all popular types of DTH hammers. Sizes range from 60mm (2 3/8”) all the way through to 1090mm (43”) Our bits are usually supplied as standard with Flat Face head design but others such as Convex or Concave are possible on request. We supply Hemispherical buttons as standard with Parabolic being an option depending on the size and type of bit, thus giving the maximum choice for all rock drilling conditions.

Large Diameter Button BitsOur high quality UK manufactured button bits are available in sizes right up to 43” (1090mm).
