Please note the following:

The College aims to ensure that learners and clients receiving a colour service are protected as far as is reasonably possible from suffering an allergic reaction to hair colouring and/or hair lightening and as such offer a complimentary skin testing service.

The allergy test must be carried out for:

Hair colouring:

Every new colour or hair lightening client

The skin test must be conducted a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment.

If it has been at least 6 months since the client last had a colour in the salons of the college

If a client has not had a skin test within 6 months. It is irrelevant how often they have a colour applied in the salon. Every client must be allergy tested at least once every 6 months.

If the client is having a different colourant brand or shade.

Eyelash/Eyebrow tinting and False Lashes

All patch tests must be carried out on all clients who request to have an eye treatment which involves chemicals in contact with the eyes.

A patch test following manufacturer’s instructions, must be carried out a full 48 hour prior to the service booking. All patch tests must be carried out by a member of staff or learner of the college.

Beauty and Holistic Treatments

If you have suffered from or are currently undergoing treatment for any of the following conditions, you may be refused treatment until a written doctor’s note is provided: Epilepsy, diabetes, heart condition/disorder, contagious skin condition, nail or eye infections, dysfunction of the nervous system, under-going chemotherapy/radiotherapy or other forms of cancer treatments, asthma, history of embolism or thrombosis, high blood pressure, recent operations, pacemakers, metal plates/pins, hepatitis B or C, HIV, Botox, undiagnosed lumps or swelling, severe acne, first few months of pregnancy, circulatory disorders.

A final decision will be made by the tutor. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

All children under 16 must have a parent permission to receive a

treatment or service.

All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under 12 are not permitted in beauty salons.

All children under 16 are not permitted electrical , epilation or waxing

treatments.

Children under 5 are not permitted in hair salons.

Children under 7 can receive a hairdressing service from a Level 3

students only.

Children between 7—14 can receive a hairdressing service from a

Level 2 student.

All children under 16 are not permitted to have any colour or

chemical services..
