Each week we feel more and more sure about where God has placed us, and we learn more about how we can min-ister to the people here.

We’re told that in another month or two, this peaceful little city will get crazy as folks come from all around to enjoy the river.

But until summer vacation starts in December, the place is full of students of the 20 or so colleges right around us. It seems that this is the clos-est town to get a higher edu-cation in this part of the

country, so there’s an ex-tremely high population of young adults.

Just this week I was talking to a young lady who came here from a tiny little place hours away—her first ex-perience away from her fam-ily, in a city where she knew no one and struggled to adapt to the lifestyle changes.

It’s folks like her we’re here to reach, so please continue to pray that God opens the doors for the vision He’s planted in our hearts, and

Out and About!

Prayer Focus: Guidance in where to

focus our ministry efforts in this new city, and that God goes before us prepar-ing hearts.

Healing and pain relief in Christie’s leg.

Good friends for the girls, and strategic contacts for us all.

Financial provision for expenses in this area with a substantially higher cost-of-living.

God’s intervention in continuing legal battles and paperwork issues.

that we have the wisdom to follow His lead.

We’ve also gotten good use out of our “extra room” out back. It’s detached from the house, so we don’t want ei-ther of the girls sleeping there, but it’s perfect for visi-tors. We prayed that God would help us use it to bless others with a place of rest, and we’ve already had 11 different overnight guests! It seems God was listening! Ita Paso is a small community that formed from the displaced residents of the lower part of the city, which was flooded to make way for tourism devel-opment. The city relocated them to “villages” just outside of town.

A church began a soup kitchen in that area about 11 years ago, which has de-veloped into a school of about 85 pre-schoolers, kindergartners, and first-graders, with plans to expand one grade

more each year. They are also planting a large gar-den, so that the children can learn practical skills while helping provide for the very busy soup kitchen.

What a beautiful school this was, with colorful classrooms and supplies for all the children.

We’ve had a great time visiting the chil-dren of Encarnación!

Che Roga (“Our Home” in Guarani) is a children’s home a few miles from our house, with nearly 100 little residents.

They live in duplexes that are sepa-rated boy/girl and by age, where a house mom takes care of them.

A pastor and his family live on the premises to minister to these children, but the direc-tor explained some of the needs that these little guys have. We look for-ward to working more with them in the future.

When the church decided to adopt this little community, they really went out of their way to show how precious these little ones are to their Heavenly Father!

We visited the 85 students, their teach-ers, and the staff, thrilled that allowed us to share a Bible story and invited us to come back!

Thank you again for helping us to minister in this beautiful country, which is only possible through your prayers, support, and giving. We can’t explain how much your messages of encouragement and reminders that you are praying for us, really mean to our family. May God richly bless you for the part you play in the growth of His Kingdom in Paraguay!

God bless you! ¡Dios le bendiga!
