As a child, both of my parents ran their own businesses. I grew up seeing them work long hours just to survive, worrying about the mortgage, and never achieve their potential. That’s why my passion is helping business owners to achieve more, to fulfil their potential.

My career started in finance, specialising in small to medium enterprises. I quickly found that systemising the finance department freed me up to help the CEO in other areas of the business. My experiences of helping to lead change at work led me to the power of coaching to help more small businesses to succeed. I’ve guided business owners towards financial and personal growth since 1999, and as an expert business coach since 2013. “Our first priority was to build a strong team that I could manage from a distance. As we’d never taken out any loans and had never been greedy with taking money out for ourselves, we had money we could invest in recruitment. Jamie really helped us to create a thorough recruitment process which was a major improvement but we’re still learning. We now have an idea of the best ratio, to balance a new sales hire which increases orders with the need to bring more staff into the production team.

“We also looked at the reasons why people buy our products and it was often because they had just moved house. So, we started to target new housing developments. John Pink founded bespoke window dressing company, Blind Technique, with his son, Richard. Richard is a full-time pilot with a major airline so when John started to think about retirement, they had to think carefully about the future of their business in Ruislip, Greater London. Their choice was to either run the company down or make it work so that Richard could manage it remotely when work took him away.

The programme involves two hours of face-to-face or video-call coaching per month, and implementing any agreed decisions or homework within your business by your agreed deadline. Will it cost me to implement my new business strategy?Some of the business decisions you make as a result of coaching may involve investing in infrastructure, marketing or people.
