Computer Design by Vaio
This work of art is developed by Eno Setiawan of Yanko Design and named Sony Vaio Zoom. It’s 100% holographic, both
the monitor and the keyboard. When the PC is off the monitor becomes a glass screen and the keyboard a flat plate ceramic glass.
Windows to the World’ concept
By Kelvin Ko, from the Fontys IBMS Coolhunt: This concept Internet search device is designed by Mac Funamizu. It is a screen that will most likely be transparent. It will be like having wikipedia whereever you go but this is much cooler and way more advanced. The
artist’s impressions for this concept is to make a portable device that has a touchscreen panel, built-in camera,Wi-Fi connectivity, Google Maps and Google Search capabilities. The capabilities of this screen is that when you point it at an object, the device will be able to show you more
details about it--such as the name of an insect, a car model, or food on the table--on the screen. We suppose at this point of
time it will use the onboard Wi-Fi to grab information from the Web.
Samsung Haptic Beam Phone
Samsung’s Haptic Beam is the first full touch mobile projector phone. The device is a revolutionary concept as it moves
the mobile phone from a personal to a group domain in providing multi media entertaiment such as live television, internet surfing and
stored movies for a long length of time. In addition, the Haptic Beam can be used to display presentations during business meetings. The projected image can
be enlarged to a good resolution size of 50 inches. The external sound capabilities are sufficient to share the multi media experience with a considerable group.
Hybrid Dual Portable Computer
Mobile Intelligent Ubiquitous aka MIU has unveiled the third generation of its Hybrid Dual Portable Computer (HDPC). The new model offers a 4.1 inch TFT display (800 x480 resolution), a 2.4 inch AMOLED internal display (320 x 240 resolution), ARM processor for menial tasks,
Intel Atom processor, Windows CE operating system and DMB navigation capability.
As you can see this gadget looks more like a mobile phone than a computer,
though I would not want to argue with anyone regarding
the absolute definition of ‘portable computer’ these
days. The latest product from MIU has been scheduled to
be released in Korea for
$500. However, there is no word on the release date at this time, so in the mean
time, here’s a quick video…
