Activity 6.1. Establish Multi-Stakeholders Platforms
Identification of stakeholders along the value chain
- ADPs: KNARDA, JARDA, KTARDA, BSADP, BUK
Groundnut Upscaling Project, N2Africa, GreenSahel,
WOFAN, Greenspore, Maina Seeds, Jukur Seed,
NGROPMAN, Cowpea Marketers (Dawanau)
Organize a stakeholders’ workshop
- Stakeholders’ meetings: twice in a year (April/May to
plan for rainy season activities and November/December
to organize for dry season activities)
Multi stakeholders platforms established in Nigeria for
groundnut.
- Expand and use existing platforms from TL II
Activity 6.2. Establish Multi-Stakeholders Platforms
Platform members trained in seed production and business
management (trainees to be disaggregated by gender, category
and type of training) per year and target crop [Groundnut: 2500]
Types of training: improve production practices in legumes,
harvest and postharvest handling and marketing & business
management
KNARDA, BSADP, JARDA, KTARDA & Green Sahel to train
500 participants each in the 3 trainings for groundnut
Activity 6.4. Popularize New Varieties
a) 2500 copies of seed production, postharvest, seed
business management guides produced and shared with
partners annually.
b) 50 Demonstrations for each crop to be established each
year. Demonstrations to include basic N2Africa-
recommended package of inoculum and agronomy
practices.
- Each of the 4 ADPs & Green Sahel to establish 10
demos for groundnut.
a) Field days (50% female participants) held annually each
year.
- Each of the 4 ADPs & Green Sahel to conduct 2 field
days for groundnut.
Activity 6.4. Popularize New Varieties
a) Electronic (TV, radio) programs per crop and print media
disseminated annually in each country (5 for groundnut
and 2 for cowpea).
- The 4 ADPs & Green Sahel to conduct 1 TV, radio and
print media programs
b) Agri/seed fairs/exhibition/shows (50% female
participation) organized per year (5 for groundnut and 2 for
cowpea).
- Each ADP and Green Sahel to conduct at least 1 Agrifair
