The flagship of Ludy’s, the SL Series is a low maintenance, aluminum frame that can be customized to fit your needs. Trusses are made of structural aluminum angles and tees and attached directly to I-beam columns. The centerline of each member converges to a single point. This design concept ensures the strongest house possible, with sig-nificantly better resistance to side and downward stresses. Ludy scru-tinizes the entire design using the latest computerized structural analy-sis software, and obtains the approval of independent engineers to ensure the integrity of your houses.

Fabricated from 12-gauge galvanized steel, the gutters are wide enough to walk through, Ludy scrutinizes the en-tire design using the latest computerized structural analysis software and obtains the approval of independent engineers to ensure the integrity of your house. When you choose an R/S II, we build the house to meet your local growing, weather and structural code requirements, but you don’t pay for more house than you really need. We can incorporate classroom space, checkout areas for garden centers or stage facilities into the design.

The Ludy Design brings the centerlines of all structural members to a single point on top of the post. Loading forces are transferred to the strongest part of the structure and members support each other. Other designs using a side mounted gusset plate are highly suscep-tible to uneven loading.

Softlite LEXAN™ Thermoclear™ Plus multiwall sheet is a 100% dif-fused panel utilizing advance polymer technology that scatters the light while maintaining a 79% PAR light transmission. The diffusion feature of Softlite LEXAN™ Thermoclear™ Plus makes the sheet an excellent choice for greenhouse applications where plants benefit from high light levels for growth, but need protection from harsh intense sunlight. The 100% scattering of the light encompasses both top and bottom leaves resulting in faster uniform growth, virtual elimination of shadows, brighter colors and more usable energy to the plant.

Easy Clean is the world’s first self cleaning polycarbonate sheet. A unique hydrophobic coating on the outside surface reduces the surface tension of the polycarbonate and increases the contact angle of water to the sheet. This causes larger droplets to form and wash away dirt leaving the sheet almost spotless; reducing frequency and cost of cleaning.

SunXP offers UV protection on both sides, with even higher resis-tance to UV radiation, yellowing and loss of light transmission. This material has a unique 15 year limited written warranty.

Renovation of greenhouse structures has demanded the invention of glazing systems to more effectively reduce energy consumption, and maintenance costs, for greater profitability.

Ludy glazing systems improve value, upgrades appearance and will lower operating costs. The Ludy-Lite and Wood-Lite systems include specially designed aluminum extrusion for rafter bars, top and bottom closures, gable end rafters and vents. Typically, bar caps and glass are removed from the existing house and the rafters are cleaned of putty and caulking. Ludy-Lite adapters are fitted to the rafter and glazing material is laid in place. The top of the rafter is sealed with a Ludy-Lite bar cap.

Automatic or manually operated overhead doors are available in a wide variety of sizes to meet your needs. Overhead doors can be glazed with metal clad with or without insulation or glass.

Hummert International offers a wide selection of 3’, 3’6” and 4’ wide, single and double panel doors. Optional A.D.A. hardware, panic hardware and window-lites are available.

AJ Manufacturing, commercial grade walk doors, are insulated R-12, steel single or double panel doors with aluminum frames. Doors are shipped pre-hung and include a 4-way universal swing with stainless steel hinges. Doors include Schlage entry lockset, latch guard kit, aluminum header and sill and Taco series 70 aluminum door closure. Series 3100 doors have a 28 gauge. white embossed steel panel and white aluminum frame. The Series 5100 doors have a 24 gauge smooth steel panel with a white factory finish and a white 16 gauge aluminum jamb. Vue Lite insulated windows are 22” x 22”. In additional to the Vue Lite window option, doors are available with a solid panel or a full view panel. Sizes range from 2’ to 4’ wide and 6’8” and 7’ high. Color selection is white, bronze, brown and clay.

POLY FASTENING SYSTEMWiggle Wire is capable of holding two layers of polyethylene, plus a piece of shade cloth. You simply lock the polyethylene with one wire, then go back and install a second wire to hold the shade cloth in place.

Wiggle Wire is capable of securing greenhouse poly, shade cloth, screening, and a multitude of other flexible materials.

Install Base Attach base to wood or metal surface. Install screws no more than 12” apart.Install Cover and Wire Stretch single or double poly across base and snap wire into place. You can use more than one material with one wire. Materials can range from 2 mil to 10 mil thick.

Overlap Wiggle Wire EndsOverlap wiggle wire one section during installation. Be sure that the pattern is reversed for the top section. See Figure 2Lock CornersIMPORTANT: Install 12” wire sections wherever poly fastener turns a corner. Be sure to reverse the wire pattern. See Figure 3Wiggle Wire can also be installed on arched structures. Start at the bottom and follow the bend. Attach the screws every 12”. See Figure 4

Greenhouse Extrusions

To meet your specific greenhouse needs, Conley’s offers two aluminum locking options for polyethylene installation. Aluminum base with spring lock and vinnipet base with springs are used to secure poly sides and roof. The tubelock splicer bow and vinnipet splicer bow secures poly flim roof to poly film end walls. The gable end bar combo unit, tubelock splicer bow and vinnipet splicer bow create a flashing for end walls and roof coverings.

1. On single buildings, roll out the poly lengthwise next to the building2. Wad up the poly (approx. every 20’) and tie it with ropes on the side

of the poly furthest from the building. 3. Throw ropes over the building and pull the poly onto the building.

Repeat this procedure for multiple layers of poly or the addition of shade.

4. Requires a minimum of four people, two people to hold the poly in place at the end of the building, one on each side. The other two people starting at the opposite end of building to install the tube lock or vinnipet spring simultaneously, on each side of the building

5. Secure the tube lock cap with screws at each end.

NOTE: Tek Screw all Vinnipet base at a minimum of 12” on center1. Apply poly film (one or more layers) over previously installed

Vinnipet spring. See detail 42. Insert one edge of the Vinnipet spring into the Vinnipet base.

Keeping poly tight, weave the Vinnipet spring into the base securing the poly. See detail 5.

3. When installing a second layer of poly, shade cloth or poly film wider than 32’, insert one edge of the second Vinnipet spring into the Vinnipet base. Keeping poly tight, weave the second Vinnipet spring into the base securing the poly. See detail 6.

1. Install tube lock to the end arches and across the eave or base with tek screws placed every 16” on center.

2. Apply the poly film (one or more layers) over the previously installed tube lock. See detail 7.

3. Insert the long leg of the cap first. Keep it next to the inflated side of the covering. See detail 8.

4. Tek screw the rube lock cap to the base with tek screws at each end. See detail 9.

1. Option #1- Tube Lock or Vinnipet Spring. Install base to the end of eave or base with a tek screw approximately 16” on center for tube lock and 12” on center for Vinnapet Spring. See detail 1.

2. Option #2- Tube Lock Splice. Used if the buiding is longer than the provided poly film or for poly film on the end walls. Attach to the arch with tek screws. See detail 2.

3. Option #3- Gable End Combo Bar. Used for rigid covering on the end walls. Attach to end arch with screws approximately 16” on center. See detail 3.

The use of outside air inflation helps reduce condensation between double layer poly-ethylene. Polyethylene Film Accessories

This is a non-woven, polyester tape that protects and extends the life of your greenhouse covering. Apply to greenhouse frame any place where poly film contacts, and breakdown at the frame is virtually eliminated. Remove paper backing and apply directly to metal, painted surfaces, wood and plastic surfaces, pressing evenly to assure good contact with pressure-sensitive adhesive. STRONG, COMPACT, RELIABLE are Lock products. Lock Drives are known globally as the finest when it comes to accuracy, with precise opening and closing positions due to its limit switch system. These limits feature Swiss made micro switches that are set by tightening three Allen head screws in each direction. Once they are set they will continue to run for many years without any attention. The EWA 12, 14 and 16 units have safety limits. There is an extra micro switch in each direction that will cut off the power to the motor if the system is forced past the stopping point. Lock Gear Motors are operated by Link4 iDrive Motor Controllers. Lock Gear Motors that are single phase, have line voltage limits and require iDrive 300 and do not use the low voltage limit switch interface. Lock Gear Motors that are three phase are low voltage 24VAC typical and require the three phase version of the iDrive 300 and utilize the low voltage limit switch interface. The advantages of natural ventilation for your greenhouse-growing environment are numerous and can be achieved with the Roll-Up/Lock Down Curtain Systems by Advancing Alternatives Inc. The Roll-Up/LockDownCurtainSystemscanfitany“straight”or“curved”wall–free

standing or gutter connected greenhouse. Available in 4’ increments, systems can be manually operated or motorized with low voltage or line voltage motor drives. The patented Roll-Bar and Roll-Lock, locks down when closed and fully seals across the entire bottom. Optional auto inflation is designed to inflate two layers of poly and seals the ends of the curtain for added insulation, saving you energy and money!

Cold Frame, High Tunnel and Ground to Ground (1’ to 7’ Opening Curtain Systems) Curtain systems are designed for single poly or double layer air inflated poly. Three options for installation:uExterior retractable shade (an Abri system): This shade

system goes high above the structure and won’t interfere with vents. The fabric (such as the Svensson F series) is designed to “breath” and exhaust air between the shading and aluminized reflective components. It is highly efficient since the cloth reflects radiation before it enters the greenhouse;theadditionalstructurewhichwithstandswindloading makes this the most expensive option.

vInterior retractable shade: This system, primarily used with natural ventilation, allows for even shading so plants dry out evenly. The greenhouse is ventilated through the shade.

wInterior retractable energy/shade: Regular energy curtains must be left open to match the area opening of the vent position. This allows a band of unshaded light that may cause dry areas on the plants, bench or floor.
