Uh, oh: Politics.... and Religion???!
Yes, “Religion in the News: Politics Edition” Part 2, TODAY, 11:35am in the Church Parlor
Don’t be afraid. David has been doing “Religion in the News” classes forever, including several years on radio. There is always religion in the news pertaining to politics, especially in the lead up to a national election. When Carter was running, there were lots of articles on being “born again”, his Playboy interview, and his church rejecting a black man for membership. Lieberman’s Orthodox Judaism, Romney’s Mormon faith. Carson being a Seventh Day Adventist. Politicians denied Communion. Dole and Clinton attending the same church. Obamacare including birth control. Should an aircraft carrier be named Corpus Christi (Body of Christ)? The list is endless.
So.... rather than every “Religion in the News” class seeded with political/religion articles, David has bundled them for these two weeks. Come, think, enjoy, discuss, and have fun.
TONIGHT it’s our

CHURCH NOTES
GOOD MORNING, and welcome to Greenfield Hill Church. We are a little slice of history, almost 300 years old, with our feet planted firmly in the present and our eyes
looking forward. Your presence brightens our days and enlivens our ministry. Thank you.

Join us for Fellowship!! After the 9:00 service, please join the Fellowship Board

fellowship.
A note about children in worship: We love them! But if you’d prefer to enjoy
worship on your own, our Church Nursery for infants-toddlers is across the street
in the Church House. Special beepers/pagers are available to parents so that they
may be quietly contacted during the worship service if their child misses them! If
your child in worship becomes restless or unhappy, please make use of the Parlor
(through the double doors by the choir loft, or head outside and through the side
doors). There is a comfortable space there for your child to play with toys and a
speaker which carries the service!
The spring flowers on the communion table are given in memory of Phil Davies,
by his wife, Lynn.
We have a number of days available this spring for giving flowers on the
communion table in memory or celebration of someone. Following worship, you
may take the flowers, or our Member Care Board delivers to those hospitalized or
shut-in. All you need to do is contact our Flower Chairperson, Lynn Davies at
Remembering our Soldiers: Alex Beyer, Laura Riebel, Mark Riebel, Derrick Keene, David Elliott, Stephen Honan, Molly Hanson, Shelby Wallace, Kelsey Wallace, Lawrence
Benjamin, Dale Cates, Charles Morgan Peck, Robbie Bourne
