Why Greencare?Political steer – making change happen
‘Green’ is the new buzz word, we are asked as individuals to go green and businesses are no different. We should be looking at our social corporate responsibility to all our patient’s, staff and visitors. As an NHS employer we are part of a large organisation that if we work together can make a real difference.
Economical – every pound counts
Going green will have cost implications such as financing recycling bins and workforce resources to plan, execute and monitoring the project. However there are substantial savings be made in terms of reducing energy costs, working smarter not harder, twice is right to reduce stationary costs, and recycling to reducing waste disposal.
Social Responsibility – more than just a hospital
As an NHS employer we have a duty of care to our staff and patients to ensure we deliver the highest quality of care. But why should it stop their, we have a responsibility to our public to ensure that we deliver this care in the best possible way, that is with a care to the size of our carbon footprint.
