“Let’s be eco-friendly” d TEA LIGHT HOLDERS Our primary school collects tea light holders to our recycling stations. Some classes will be involved in a competition with several other schools. It’s all about to collect and recycle as many holders as possible. We in the other classes try to help them. In Sweden we use a lot of candles, especially in wintertime, at birthdays and other celebrations. It’s important not to throw them into the trash, because they are made of aluminium. It is important to throw tea light holders in the recycling station. REUSE D old BOTTL ES an d MAKE new BEAUTIFUL ART At Christmas time we always made a Christmas decorations. This year we asked the children to take old soda bottles with them to school. We used them to make a copy of themselves in our Lucia procession on the 13th of December. You can see Sancta Lucia with candles in her hair and a red silk ribbon in the middle, her maids around Gingerbread men, Starboys and Santa Clauses. GREEN MAGAZINE Onsjöskolan December 2010
