in your cell phone, so that

you can use them to find your

way even without internet

connection!

Finding your way

Beat is an app that will allow

you to move around the city.

Insert the address you wish to

go to, tap on your

smartphone, and you will get

a taxi ride in just a few

minutes, at no extra cost!

Taxis are really cheap in Greece, especially if

you share the ride (3-4 students per taxi)!

Money

Call your credit card/debit company to

notify them of your travel plans.

Check international transactions fees.

The easiest way to get Euros (cash) is from

the ATM at any Greek Bank.

Plan on ~ $ 300-500 extra costs depending

on what you buy, where you eat, etc.

Be sure to have “cash” access

in case of emergency!

Luggage

Knowing the rules of what you can and cannot

bring on-board and packing smartly is an

important step to make things smoother.

Your luggage will be tagged to your final

destination which is ATHENS. Take a picture of

your suitcase and the baggage claim.

Luggage

The dimensions of the carry-on baggage should

usually not exceed 22 x 15 x 8 inches (56 x 45 x 25 cm) and must weigh no more than 15 lb (7 kg).

Usual allowance is 1 carry-on

baggage plus 1 personal item like a

purse, computer bag or camera case.

Carry-on

Any liquid toiletries in cabin baggage must be in

3-ounce or smaller (<100 ml) containers, packed

in a clear 1-quart re-sealable bag.

Luggage

Pay attention to weight restrictions!

Most airlines allow for 1 or 2 bags to be

checked for free on international flights.

The exact number depends on the airline, route & class you are traveling in.

Checked luggage

Max weight is usually 50 lb (23 kg). The fees on an overweight baggage can be extreme, it is

sometimes cheaper to pay to check an extra bag.
