Theperformanceoftheappointeeshouldbereviewedaftereverythreemonths. Incasetheappointeewantstoquittheservice,he/sheshallhavetoinformthedepartmentbeforeonemonth. He/sheshallhavetoworkattheplaceagainstwhichhe/shehasbeenengagedandshallnotbeeligiblefortransferfromtheplaceofpostinginanycase. He/sheshallbeterminatedatanytimefornonperformance,indiscipline,absenteefromdutyoranyotherreasonwithoutanypriornotice. He/sheshallhavetosubmitanaffidavitdulysignedbyIstClassMagistratethathe/sheshallnotclaimforanyregularizationofhis/herservicesintheDepartment/Government. He/sheshallnotbeentitledtoanyallowancesormonetarybenefitwhatsoeverexceptasadmissibleunderthescheme. He/sheshallreportintheofficeoftheconcernedChiefMedicalOfficersasmentionedagainsteachalongwithalloriginaldocuments/testimonials,fortheirdutieswithin07daysofthepublicationofthisnotice,failingwhichtheengagementorderwillbetreatedascancelledwithoutanypriornoticeandconsequentlythewaitinglistshallbeoperated. Srinagar, Sep 27: Belying tall claims of the authorities to restore sanctity of roads and footpaths in the summer capital, the roadside encroach-ments are severely hampering smooth flow of pedestrian and vehicular movement. Notwithstanding the directives of the Chief Minis-ter, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, to take immediate measures to streamline traffic manage-ment in the city by removing encroachment from roads and footpaths, authorities are sit-ting over the serious issue. In absence of any regu-lation, major streets and roads of Srinagar have been encroached upon by street vendors. Street vendors have taken over the entire stretch of footpaths and roadsides at city centre areas including Regal Chowk, Ghanta Ghar, Amira Kadal, Hari Singh High Street, LD Crossing, Batamaloo and Karan Nagar. The problem has been com-pounded by shopkeepers who place their goods on the foot-paths. The footpaths at the com-mercial hub of Srinagar, Lal Chowk have been occupied by street vendors. Due to encroachment of footpaths near Biscoe School and Ghanta Char people including students are forced to walk on main road posing risk of accidents to them. At Court road, several shop-keepers have blocked the road by placing stones and ropes. “Several shopkeepers have encroached upon the roadsides at Court road and disallow parking of vehicles there.

This is sheer highhandedness by these shopkeepers which has been encroached upon by inaction of SMC and Traffic authorities,” com-muters said. Footpaths on both sides of Amira Kadal have also been encroached by street vendors. People face a tough time to even walk through the Hari Singh High Street as most of the shopkeepers place their goods on

footpaths while street vendors block the roadsides. “The encroachment of roads and footpath cannot happen without con-nivance of concerned officials. Even the shopkeepers openly place their entire goods on main roads. There is hardly any place to walk or park vehicles at this market,” said a group of commuters at Hari Singh High Street.

SMC Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Zargar had earlier this month announced to launch a drive against the roadside encroachments, but no action has been taken so far. The aggrieved commuters urged Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to direct the concerned authorities to remove roadside encroachments in at least city-centre areas at the earli-est.

Buchwara residents censure PHE authorities Srinagar, Sep 27: Residents of Buchwara area here have censured the PHE department for failing to resolve water scarcity in the area. A delegation from the area led by Muhammad Sharief said houses at the tail end of the locality near Jamia Masjid are without regular water supply. “We many times apprised the concerned PHE authorities about the problem, but to no avail. We will be forced to take to roads and stage pro-test if the PHE authorities failed to restore water supply to our area at the earliest,” the aggrieved resi-dents said.

Water shortage hits Batamaloo Srinagar, Sep 27: Failure of authori-

ties to restore water supply in various localities of Batamaloo here triggered resentment among the locals. The residents of Magarmal Bagh and

its adjacent areas said they have been reel-ing under acute scarcity of drinking water from past several days. “In absence of water, we face immense

problems. Even on Eid, we had to fetch water from other areas. Despite

repeated reminders, the PHE authorities have failed to restore water supply to our area,” the aggrieved residents said. They appealed Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter.

Srinagar, Sep 27: Res-idents of Old Gagribal have complained of low water pressure in the locality for past several days.

A delegation from the area said they are forced to fetch water from adjoin-ing areas in absence of

regular water supply. “The pressure of water

is so low that it does not reach our taps inside houses. We had apprised the concerned PHE authorities about the matter but they did not take any action. We appeal the Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter,” they said.
