Mentoring ProgramThe WICT Mentoring program is a great opportunity for both emerging and established professionals to assist in personal and professional development through a formalized mentoring relationship. In 2014, the program had 50 mentor and mentee matches. The mentors are carefully screened and matched with their protégé based on competencies and development needs. In addition to leadership training events and networking opportunities, each mentee creates an action plan for their developmental focus areas, to be addressed with their mentor’s support.

Speaker Series The WICT Speaker Series provides an opportunity for members to connect with fellow members over breakfast and hear from industry leaders on topics such as industry trends, technology, leadership, and professional development. Agendas are designed to be both educational and inspiring.

Regional EventsDeveloped to offer programming to our members who live and work in the region but outside the city.

Networking on Demand Every year in March, individual WICT Philadelphia members are encouraged to sign up to be matched with another WICT member for networking. A WICT Board Member facilitates the matches and acts as a point of contact. Matches meet at a time and place of their convenience. In 2014, 74 members participated and had the opportunity to strengthen and extend their existing networks. Members are matched 5 times throughout the year: April, June, August, October and December.

Sponsor Reception The Sponsor Reception gives the WICT Philadelphia Chapter and its supporters an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation to the sponsor community.

WICT Philadelphia Chapter Event Programming made possible by Sponsorship ContributionsExecutive EventThe WICT Philadelphia Executive Event is offered exclusively for our executive members. It provides an opportunity for these members to network amongst peers in a relaxed setting. Established industry professionals speak on leadership and share anecdotes from how they chose, created and followed their individual career paths.

Tech It OutTech It Out is a full day event aimed at educating and expanding the technology agenda further. The agenda is designed to inspire, empower and advance the roles of women in technology. Main themes include building knowledge of the technology eco-system, analyzing the current landscape and future trends of technology in the cable industry and showcasing career opportunities. The program includes keynotes, presentations, panel discussions and workshops delivered by industry leaders.

WICT Philly Gives BackThe WICT Philly Gives Back event is our largest and most-attended event each year. In 2014 over 300 members and guests attended this fundraiser, raising $10,000 for the WICT Scholarship Fund and $10,000 for Girls Inc. – a group that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through life-changing programs and experiences that help girls navigate gender, economic, and social barriers. The event also awards outstanding individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of leadership, innovation, intelligence, excellence, risk taking, teamwork, and dedication to our cable and telecommunications industry.

ScholarshipsWICT Greater Philadelphia offers members the opportunity to apply for scholarships to local and national industry events like the WICT Leadership Conference and NCTA. In 2014 a total of 21 scholarships were awarded.
