Before After
Before: “Without the ability to adjust the seat height of an office desk chair, faculty and staff must compensate using their shoulders and neck muscles which leads to stress and fatigue. These four-legged chairs are also at risk of tipping over and require body strain in order to scoot them to and from the desk”
After: “WOW! This chair is really comfortable!" "A definite improvement over my old non-ergonomic chair."

Before After
Before: “Most of the treatment/exam tables we use are fixed height and do not allow proper technique for treatment due to varying size of student-athletes and providers. Overuse low back pain, hand/wrist pain linked to improper technique due to table height for manual interventions completed multiple times daily.”
After: “I’ve noticed a great change …I’m no longer putting myself in uncomfortable positions in order to adapt to different athletes on a fixed-height table.” “I can put the student-athletes in an optimal position for treatment without putting stress on my body. It has improved my ability to administer treatment.””
AA/Microbiology and Immunology Floor mats

Before After
Before: “Standing, in a relatively fixed position, for long periods of time while working puts strain on employees’ legs and feet. Also, having to remain bent over while working also strains the back. Having fatigue comfort mats to stand on will help relieve these issues.”
After: “The mats offer more support than we could have imagined. Everyone in the lab is extremely happy. "It's like standing on air. So comfortable!" ”
Flint/Foreign Languages Chairs

Before After
Before: “Faculty complain about lacking the ability to adjust height or swivel their chairs to a comfortable position. Desk chairs ought to roll to avoid unsafe scooting forwards and accidental tipping backwards.”
After: “Faculty are more comfortable with the new chairs and therefore stay in the office to complete work instead of completing the task at home. This allows students extended access to faculty. ”

Many nurses have had time off due to back injury, shoulder injury, or exacerbation during the process of patient care.”
After: “All of the nurses and techs that I have talked to about the slide boards are happy to have them and use them. They have made a huge difference in transferring the patients on our unit. Every transfer I have been a part of has used the slide boards now that we have them more accessible.”

Our current recliners do not have a lock on the recline feature which requires the tech to reposition the patient multiple times during the course of the hook up.”
After: “Users are very appreciative of the multi lock recline ability. They are also appreciative that the chair is lighter and rolls in and out of the room easier than the previous recliners. This is a benefit we didn't consider, but are glad to have.”

After: “The equipment is great. They have solved all of our ergonomic issues in the lab. There is no more dangerous climbing to reach things. The monitors have made it easier to sit at a computer for a long period of time without causing too much strain on the eye. The size of the monitors have helped with posture as well. ”
