It’s not too early to start thinking about our Annual Fall Festival! Please put the date on your calendars and plan on helping out! We welcome new Chair-people: Chris & Tracy Farrell and Chris & Anita Hahn. Our first order of business is to get a firm commitment from last year’s booth workers. If you worked in any booth or area of the Festival, please call the business office at 438-6181 or send us a message or email to let us know if you plan on helping out. If you cannot help, please call and let us know that also. We do know that we will need someone to be in charge of the Country Store. More information will be in the bulletin in the coming weeks. We will also have this information on our Facebook page

Annual Catholic Appeal 2019

We continue to ask for your support for the 2018 Annual Catholic Appeal! Again this weekend, for those of you who weren’t able to stop over at the school during the last three weekends of the Appeal, we have placed in the pews “ACA Pew Pledge Card” envelopes. We encourage those of you who have not made a pledge to either take a few minutes to fill this envelope out now or take it home with you and return next week. Otherwise we will be contacting you or mailing you your pledge card sometime this coming week. We encourage you to give what you gave last year if at all possible. To those of you who are first time givers, we ask you to please consider giving $5, $10 or $20 if you are able. Every amount helps us meet our goal. Our 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal Goals are: St. Joachim Parish Parish Goal: $11,770 Challenge Goal: $17,375.00 To-date: $18,475.00!! Through the generosity of our parishioners we have reached our challenge goal! We are still striving towards and even high goal with all those who have given in the past but have yet to do so. Please consider giving! Our New Donor Goal is 12 Last year our participation percentage was 49% St. Joseph Parish Goal: $1,100 To-date: $495.00 Our New Donor Goal is 1 Last year our participation percentage was 39% We thank everyone for their generous support of the Annual Catholic Appeal this year. Please remember that your contribution and those made throughout the Archdiocese, helped to enliven programs and ministries right here in St. Joachim Parish with our Parish School Assistance of $116,000 and Tuition Subsidy for Paul VI Institute of $500.00 and Grants to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in the amount of $2,000.00. Our school cannot remain open without the support of the Annual Catholic Appeal!

Dynamic Catholic, Alive! – Evangelization Every Christian, through their Baptism, are called by God to spread the Gospel message. Jesus didn’t just

give the mission of evangelization to the Apostles or to a select few. Today we celebrate Christ’s Ascension to

the right hand of the Father. Jesus reminds His disciples, “Thus it is written that the Christ would

suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that the repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be

preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” Jesus reminded them that they

would begin this mission, but each generation that follows is called to do the same. Not everyone is

called to mission trips to far-away places. It begins within our own hearts and minds. We can strive to

have a deeper relationship with Jesus, so we can share our experience with everyone we meet. During this week before Pentecost, we can spend some time in

prayer to the Holy Spirit asking for guidance to know the individual mission God has given us and the

strength and courage to accomplish it. www.archstl.org/live-the-faith

THIS WEEK’S READINGS: In the Gospel, Jesus prays that his disciples may all be one—not just his current disciples, but also all his disciples in the future. He is praying for us as well. As we listen to today’s readings—to Stephen, the martyr; to John, the visionary; to Jesus, right before he gave his life—let us pray that all Christians, past, present, and future, may be one. May we be of one mind, one heart, one faith. QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How can I imitate the love of God? What concrete action can I take to show God’s love to my neighbor?
