Little James Bryant and his family are familiar with the amazing work of Bristol Childrens Hospital and the Special Care Baby Unit at St Michaels Hospital. When James was born back in May 2010, he was quickly transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael’s Hospital where it was discovered that he had problems with his diaphragm and with his small intestine which required surgery. After three weeks on NICU James was allowed home but he was a reluctant feeder and in October his mum took him to A&E at Bristol Children's Hospital. He stayed in for two weeks while doctors tried to diagnose the problem and has continued to receive ongoing treatment and care. James’ family are now supporting our Cots for Tots Appeal, which is raising £1 million to provide four intensive care cots and a family accommodation suite for the NICU at St Michael’s,whilst also continuing to support wards at Bristol Children’s Hospital. James’ mum Sophie said: "I don't think we could ever do enough to repay the debt for the help James has had. Our whole family has had such incredible support from the hospital the past 12 months.
