What is the Imperfect Subjunctive?
• The Imperfect Subjunctive refers to events or ideas that did not, cannot and will not happen.
Imperfect Subjunctive• There is only one past tense in the
subjunctive, the imperfect subjunctive.
• Form the root by removing the ‘-ron’ from the third-person plural of the preterit, then add endings.
Verb endings:
ra
ras
ra
‘ramos
rais
ron
•There is only one set of endings in the imperfect subjunctive regardless of whether the ending is –AR, -ER or -IR.
• The nosotros form has an accent on the vowel right before the "r" in "-ramos."

• dormir: (durmieron) durmiera, durmieras, durmiera, durmiéramos, durmierais, durmieran
