Next Meeting Wednesday, November 7, at King’s Restaurant, Harmarville

Board Meeting 7:00 pm, General Meeting 7:30 pm

Greetings Pony Lovers –

As I write, this year’s Fall Foliage Tour is only

six days away. Tim informed me that over sixty

members with thirty cars have registered, which

could make it the best turnout we’ve had in re-

cent memory. The forecast is for cool, dry

weather, so let’s hope that holds up. He and I

are doing one final dry run to make sure there’s

no last minute road construction or detours to

deal with.

We held another planning meeting for Marque

of the Year (MOY) with Pittsburgh Vintage

Grand Prix representatives on September 24th.

The next meeting of the MOY committee is set

for October 29th.

A few of us are going to the Northway Christian

Community church for the 2012 Starlite season

wrap-up. Hopefully we’ll get the scoop on the

cruise status for next year.

The list of Pony Points earned in 2012 is now

posted on the Members’ Only section of our

website and in this newsletter. As in the past,

we plan to have each Pony Point be worth

$0.50. They can be applied towards next year’s

dues, member attendance at the Holiday Party,

or for in-stock merchandise.

Inside this newsletter is the registration form for

our Holiday Party at Ferrante’s Lakeside on Sun-

day, December 9th. The deadline to register with

Mike & Erin DeLeonibus is November 18th (which

is likely before the December newsletter comes

out,) so now’s the time to act if you plan to at-

tend.

We have a fairly full slate of candidates for De-

cember’s upcoming elections for 2013, as shown

elsewhere in this newsletter. But it’s not too late

- if you have an interest in running for an office let

me know.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, Novem-

ber 7th at King’s Family Restaurant in Harmarville.

The service at King’s last month was better than

in the past, as they’ve expanded the seating in the

meeting room and added more wait staff. I hope

to see you there.

Keep those motors runnin’,

Ken

Minutes of October 3, 2012 Combined Board and General Meeting

The combined meeting was called to order by Ken B., President, 7:25 PM, at the King’s Restaurant, Harmarville. The sign-in sheet was passed around, and the 50/50 was sold by Scott U.

Board Meeting The Board Meeting was called by Ken for the upcoming elections. Four officers, currently in their 2nd term, need Board approval to run for another term. The positions and candidates are: MCA Director, Ed S.; Secretary, Gerri C.; Treasurer, Jason U.; Vice Presi-dent, Danielle L.; and President, Ken B. For MCA Director, it was moved by Danielle L. and 2nd by Bob G. to nominate Ed S. Motion carried. For Secretary, it was moved by Denise B. and 2nd by Danielle L. to nominate Gerri C. Motion carried. For Treasurer, it was moved by Ed S. and 2nd by Mike D. to nominate Jason U. Motion carried. For Vice President, it was moved by Dwight H. and 2nd by Ken B. to nominate Danielle L. Motion carried. For President, it was moved by Mike D. and 2nd by Bob G. to nominate Ken B. Motion carried. There being no further business, it was moved by Jennie B. and 2nd by Mark Mu. to adjourn the Board Meeting. Motion carried.

General Meeting New Members/Guests: None present. Minutes: The Sept. 5, 2012 Meeting Minutes were reviewed. It was moved by Jennie B. and 2nd by Charlyn M. to approve the min-utes. Motion carried. Correspondence: Jason U mentioned that Bill H., a longtime former member, passed away. Jason suggested the club send a mone-tary contribution to the family. Discussion followed. It was moved by Jason U and 2nd by Scott U to send a monetary gift and card to the family. Motion carried. Treasurer's Report: Jason U reviewed income and expenses. Income consisted of merchandise sold, dues, Sept. 50/50 raffle, and advertising (Bodytech renewal). Expenses were to Mary for picnic food and to John for merchandise. It was moved by Mark Mu and 2nd by Carl C to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. Membership: Mary reported we have two new members since September’s meeting: Barbara and Al P. and Michael and Marcia B. The 2013 renewal period begins Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 and the dues are $20. Effective Jan. 1, 2013 the dues will be $25. Ed will total up the members’ Pony Points and they will be in the next Newsletter. Newsletter: Andrew absent. Ken reported Andrew apologizes for not being able to attend because of his work and home purchase. October 15 is the deadline for the November Newsletter. Send your photos, articles, and event info to Andrew at [email protected] and to Jennie at [email protected]. Merchandise: John reported a record dollar amount of merchandise was sold last month. He is waiting for those orders. About the antenna flags suggested at last month’s meeting, he is hoping to find a smaller size. Webmaster: Jennie reported that the networking expenses have to be approved by the end of the year. She would like to keep Net-work Solutions for our Domain Name License and Private Registry (blocks anyone to see who is the owner of the domain name) and continue using Word Press (the Host Site). The licenses expire January, 2013. Dwight added there is a multiple year discount. Jennie asked for approval for January. It was moved by Mark Mo and 2nd by Ken Br to renew the licenses now. Motion carried. TRCCC: Ron absent. Ken reported that Ron attended the Sept. 17 meeting. Two issues were discussed: 1) the 10%-15% ethanol content was raised for older cars and what antique car owners should do about it, and 2) the vintage license registration plate for an-tique cars and a follow-up discussion on a new owner obtaining a release from the previous owner, and what if the previous owner was not the original owner. There was also a discussion on using 110 octane (racing fuel) and a stabilizer for winter storage. MCA: Ed asked who were MCA members and who sent in their voter’s card for the September MCA Board of Directors' election. He added we likely will get the 2012 President’s award, which will be either our 7 th or 8th award. We have 110 points as of now. The club will receive an additional 10 points for the President's Award whenever one of our members enters a Mustang in a MCA National or Grand National show.

Ed also mentioned the Ashe-ville, NC show in July 5-7, 2013 and the Indianapolis, IN show in Aug. 2-4, 2013. Event Wrap-up: Dwight reported on the Watkins Glen event. About 14/15 cars were there, with about 9/10 from Pittsburgh. They did two laps around the track. He received a thank you note from Erie for helping them. He is checking into children’s rates. Everything is progressing well. Ken discussed the Greater Pgh. Vintage Grand Prix 2013. The Mustang will be the Marque for 2013 (MOY) in recognition of Mus-tang’s 50th anniversary. Last week six members met with Jerry L. and PVGP organizers to continue planning. Additional meetings will be held at the end of October and November. They are looking to us for help. PVGP is trying to get 500 Mustangs on display. Ken will try to bring in people and their Mustangs from other areas. Old Business: None New Business: Ken reminded the members our election will be held in December. He encourages our newer members to serve.
