ACHIEVEMENT

Raj Kapadia of Civil Engineering Branch

secured the first rank branch wise at the

institute level in second semester Summer

2019 examination with 9.65 SPI.

INSTITUTE ACTIVITIES

The staff members and the students of the institute celebrated the International

Yoga Day on 21st June 2019 by practicing yoga. The event was held with the

support of Mr. Mehta, Coordinator, Patanjali Yoga Club and the efforts of the NSS

Cell at the institute.

The institute organized a brainstorming session of the faculty members and

students with the aim to conduct the SWOT Analysis of the institute on 18th July

2019. The areas namely Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat were

explored and discussed using a Google survey form.

The institute organized an Induction Programme for the newly admitted students

from 18th to 31st July 2019. Various activities such as awareness sessions on

innovation and SSIP, industrial visits, model making, tree plantation, yoga and

pranayam, indoor and outdoor games, cleanliness campaign, BMI Health Tips, etc.

were included in the programme. Sessions on Mathematics, English and Computer

were a regular feature of the programme. An expert lecture on ‘Role of Engineers in

Nation Building’ by Dr. Bhavin Desai from SVNIT, Surat was arranged on 23rd July

2019 for all the students. A huge mass of 319 students attended the session.

The institute organized a validation programme with the stakeholders on 20th July

2019. Principal sir, NBA coordinators, faculty members of the institute, NBA

Mentor along with the invited stakeholders namely Industry Representative,

Parents, Alumni and Current Students had gathered for validating the vision,

mission of institute.

The institute organized a department wise Orientation Programme for the newly

admitted students of the 2019 batch on 31st July 2019. The students were informed

of the rules of attendance, the GTU examination pattern, activities at the

department and the institute and facilities at the institute.

With the mission of making our city green, the institute organized a Tree Plantation

Drive on 24th July 2019. More than 60 saplings were planted within the college

premises.

July 2019.

The Civil and Applied Mechanics

Department organized a demo of fire

safety equipment at the New Academic

Block on 25th July 2019.

semester students as a part of the

Induction Programme on 30th July 2019.

Sharma from CADD Center Valsad for

the third semester students on 10th July

2019.

The Mechanical Engineering Department

organized an expert lecture on

‘Entrepreneurship’ by Mr. Sandip T. Patel,

Assistant Professor, Government Engineering

College, Valsad for the fifth semester students

on 12th July 2019.

The Plastic Engineering Department

organized an expert lecture on ‘Basics

of Pneumatic Conveying’ by Shri Tejash

Gajjar, Area Manager and Shri Ravi

seventh semester students on 12th July

2019.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL

Training and Placement Cell of Government Polytechnic Valsad conducted various campus

drive for the final year students of all engineering branch. Till July 2019 a total of 23

industries have visited the campus and 107 students have been selected. The highest

package offered is 3.5 lacs per annum.
