Spring Lesson 8

Ananias and Sapphira were two people who left a legacy of being dishonest to God. Today, your kids studied the importance of standing firm and being honest at all times. If you are unfamiliar with this Bible lesson, watch the short story of Ananias and Sapphira at aachur.ch/ansap or read about it in Acts 4:32-5:11.

Even though their story ends harshly, we must remember why God put this lesson in the Bible — to teach us the importance of being honest.

Take the Family Challenge

Look up Leviticus 19:11 as a family. After reading the verse, create a simple chart with these words on the left side of a piece of paper:

• Lies • Words of truth • Actions that honor others • Disrespect • Words that build others up • Kind words

Watch TV for 30 minutes and track how many times people do the things on the chart. Don’t forget to watch the commercials. Have fun as a family using TV as a tool to challenge your kids to see the value of standing firm in their faith.
