The auditor from the NSW Audit Oce stated that Gordon West was one of the most ecient schools that she had audited which is a wonderful acknowledgement for our administraƟon team. From a principal’s perspecƟve it is very reassuring to have such a talented team managing the school’s nances. AŌer three aƩempts the Kuringgai Zone Cross Country Championships were nally held at the St Ives Showground on Wednesday last. Apologies to those parents who were forced to make a number of work variaƟons in order to aƩend the carnival. PSSA organisers are very mindful of this fact and always aƩempt to run an event on the scheduled date. CongratulaƟons to the Gordon West team on their aƫtude, eort and support for one another on the day. Thank you to Mrs Ha (Charles 3/4 F) for being the Team Manager for the day and for being so ecient in this role. Having the privilege of aƩending this carnival it was wonderful to observe the Gordon West Community spirit displayed by all of those in aƩendance. Carnival results are included later in the bulleƟn. Growing numbers of Gordon West children residing in the vicinity of the Gordon Train StaƟon have presented some challenges in relaƟon to bus travel to the school from this area. Capital works being completed at the Ryde Road pedestrian crossing will hopefully facilitate safer and more ecient pedestrian crossing before and aŌer school. The school and the bus company are very much aware of the challenges relaƟng to this bus route and are examining ways to further improve the service.

Dates to Remember

Congratula ons to Mrs Kirkpatrick our Administra ve manager and her team on their excellent audit result recently. The auditor from the NSW Audit Office stated that Gordon West was one of the most efficient schools that she had audited which is a wonderful acknowledgement for our administra on team. From a principal’s perspec ve it is very reassuring to have such a talented team managing the school’s finances.

A er three a empts the Ku‐ring‐gai Zone Cross Country Championships were finally held at the St Ives Showground on Wednesday last. Apologies to those parents who were forced to make a number of work varia ons in order to a end the carnival. PSSA organisers are very mindful of this fact and

always a empt to run an event on the scheduled date. Congratula ons to the Gordon West team on their a tude, effort and support for one another on the day. Thank you to Mrs Ha (Charles 3/4 F) for being the Team Manager for the day and for being so efficient in this role. Having the privilege of a ending this carnival it was wonderful to observe the

Gordon West Community spirit displayed by all of those in a endance. Carnival results are included later in the bulle n.

Growing numbers of Gordon West children residing in the vicinity of the Gordon Train Sta on have presented some challenges in rela on to bus travel to the school from this area. Capital works being completed at the Ryde Road pedestrian crossing will hopefully facilitate safer and more efficient pedestrian crossing before and a er school. The school and the bus company are very much aware of the challenges rela ng to this bus route and are examining ways to further improve the service.

A big thank you to Mrs Ivana Hayes and her helpers for organising the very successful movie a ernoon at Event Cinemas Macquarie Centre on Sunday a ernoon. The a ernoon was an overwhelming success with the theatre totally booked out. The movie Incredibles 2 had something for everyone with the very per nent issue of the role of “super heroes” crea ng varied challenges. The moviegoers were certainly enthralled by the

excellent anima ons and non stop entertainment.

From my wife Julia and my perspec ve it was a

wonderful opportunity to be entertained by an

excellent “children’s” movie that we would not

normally a end now that our children have grown up.
