~Dr. John Richert, Executive Vice President, Research &

Clinical Programs

The National MS Society is the largest private spon-sor of MS research in the world. We support research and training projects aimed at finding the cause of MS, better treatments and a cure. The Society also identifies promis-ing areas of research and promotes activity in those areas. Since the Society’s founding in 1946, its cumulative investment in research has surpassed half a billion dollars.

The Society spends $50 million annually to support more than 380 MS investigations, including on average, nearly $10 million at institutions including the Virginia Com-monwealth University School of Medicine and the Uni-versity of Virginia Department of Neurology.

Cause

CureCare

The Golden Circle was created in 1993 by the Southern California Chapter as the National MS Society’s elite annual gift campaign. Since that time, individuals, foundations and corporations have contributed millions of dollars to accelerate the development of more effective MS treatments, to search for the cause and cure of the disease, and to expand local programming for people with MS. When you give to The Golden Circle, your gift directly supports the MS community.

Members of the

The Golden Circle are committed to the

CauSe, Care and Cure of Multiple Sclerosis.

C a u S eGolden Circle donors lead by example, making a powerful statement that their commitment to finding a cure for MS and to improving the lives of those with MS is persistent and passionate. You, and donors like you, provide valu-able assistance to more than 2,500 people with MS and the 7,500 family members and friends in Richmond, Ha-nover, Chesterfield, The Tri-City Area, the Fredericksburg Region and the Northern Neck.

Your gift to The Golden Circle is tax deductible as the Society is a 501(c)(3) organization. All outright contribu-tions of $1,000 or greater will be displayed on the Chap-ter’s website Donor Wall.
