Golden Chariot Tour Itinerary

Chariot in Hindu mythology was referred for travelling for the kings and great warriors. The Golden Chariot Train name thus came into existence from the famous Hampi Stone Chariot

Day 01: Bangalore (Monday)

Arrive at Bangalore in the morning. Our representative guides you to the hotel Leela Palace. Followed by lunch at the theme restaurant Jamawar or Citrus. After lunch, you set out for a guided tour in Bangalore which encompasses sightseeing of The Tippu’s Palace, Bull Temple " The Lalbagh Garden.

You will be taken to the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station, Platform No. 6, at sharp 8PM. You receive a warm welcome in truly traditional style, from the staff of the train. After dinner, you can relax. The Golden Chariot Train departs for Mysore around 9 pm and reaches Mysore at about 11.30 pm.

Day 02: Mysore-Kabini-Bandipur (Tuesday)

10:00 am: After breakfast The Golden Chariot Train takes you to the next destination Kabini / Bandipur.

Kabini located at the Nagarhole National Park while Bandipur located at the Bandipur National Park are famous wildlife destinations and was visited by the Maharajas of Mysore in past for hunting 1 pm: Reach the Jungle lodge and enjoy lunch at the lodge itself. Post lunch, a jungle safari at the park followed by a Boat safari. Return to the lodge and enjoy your evening by watching a wildlife film and warming yourself up with a bonfire dinner!Night stay at the jungle lodge itself.

Day 03: Mysore (Wednesday)

The sweet chirping of the birds is your wake up call, early in the morning! Enjoy breakfast at the jungle lodge. Post breakfast you will be taken back to Mysore.Once you reach the Golden Chariot train feel free to rest. Have lunch at the restaurant of the train.

Proceed for sightseeing tour of Mysore. Visit the Mysore Palace built in the Indo-Saracenic style. The Golden Throne of the palace is displayed for public each year during the festive season of the "Dusherra Festival". You will be taken to Srirangapatnam an island fortress of the great warrior Tipu Sultan

Day 04: Hassan (Thursday)

Hassan famous for the three world heritage sites is the next destination on your Golden Chariot itinerary. Your first stop will be at Shravanabelagola the Jain pilgrimage center. The Lord Gomateswara statue on the hill top can be seen for distance. If you wish to avoid climbing the 700 steps can take the Golden Chariot palanquins (without any extra charges).

After lunch visit Belur and Halebid known for the architecture of Hoysala Kings. The Chennakesava Temple at Belur and Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebid are the main attraction

Day 05: Hospet (Friday)

The 5th day of the Golden Chariot Tour includes a trip to Hospet. You get to explore the medieval village Hampi which once used to be the capital of the largest and the most glorified Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagar. The Mughals invaded Hampi and plundered the architectural marvels of Hampi village.The Hampi still houses the ruins of the Vijayanagar Empire which has traces of the the erstwhile Vijayanagar art and culture

Day 06: Badami (Saturday)

The sightseeing attractions of the sixth day cover sightseeing in Badami and Pattadakal. Badami is also a World Heritage Site. The 18 armed sculpture Nataraja striking 81 dance poses will leave you awe-struck at first sight. Pattadakal located at the banks Malaprabha River and houses temples built by the Chalukyan Kings as a ceremonial centre where the kings once performed their coronation ceremony.

Day 07: Goa (Sunday)

The most exciting day! The whole day is devoted to sightseeing and a beach safari in Goa. Goa, the beach hub of India and is the smallest state of India located on the west coast of the country. Goa was liberated from the Portuguese in 1961 and therefore a vibrant Portuguese culture is still witnessed in Goa.Most of the famed churches are located in Old Goa. On Day 7 you will visit the Portuguese house, Goa beach resort. Experience a spa massage or sneak into a casino.enjoy the fun and frolic in Goa!

Day 08: Bangalore (Monday)

In the morning Golden Chariot train will reach Bangalore. The train culminates its journey at the Yeshwanthpur railway station. Disembark and bid farewell to your co-passengers and the staff.
