Adoption is finally “cool.”Adoption is finally “cool.”
For generations it came with an
unfortunate stigma, because
somehow we thought an adopt-
ed child came with more mystery and
risk than a natural-born child.
But today, it’s popular and encour-
aged by everyone, it seems. Ministries
both domestic and international have
sprung up, as we finally address the
great needs of our world’s children.
God actually gets credit for the first
“adoption program.” Our holy God, the
Creator of all mankind, looked at those
whom He created (us!) and saw that we
were fatherless. To adopt us brought no
surprises: He knew that we were mur-
derers, gluttons, and idolaters. He didn’t
adopt us despite our evil hearts; he
adopted us because of our evil hearts.
Some of us have an additional
member in our family this
year. We’ve added a chair to our kitchen
table. We support one more child whose
beautiful picture will hang on our fridge.
We’ve hugged a child who is the brunt of
so much bullying. These are often sacri-
ficial gestures, and they bring our Savior
great joy. Our hope is that, as we adopt
in 2012, we will always be motivated by
the sacrifice that was
made on our behalf: We
were adopted by the
Holy Creator, and we have
the tremendous privilege of
calling Him, “Abba, Father.”
And that is very “cool.”

“I listen to Faith Radio every morning while I get ready and
prepare for the day. I love the praise music, David Jeremiah
and the morning crew - Pamela and Andrew. I listen at
other times when I am cleaning house, cooking in the kitchen
and at the end of the day when I’m taking off my makeup.
So literally, I start and end the day with Faith Radio.
Every year it is a pleasure to give my (campaign) contribution
to Faith Radio - a station that blesses me every time I’m tuned
in. And I know by giving, it will keep on blessing me and
others in need.” - note by email

Years ago, I attended a
women’s conference. The
speaker asked each of us
how we worship. Many said they sing,
some said they lift their hands. I said,
“I paint.” And the questions came: Do
you paint with oils or watercolors? Do
you do portraits or still life? Do you
pray while you paint?”
“I prefer a roller. Color is more fun,
but white is okay, too.” You see, as
much as I wish I could create a woman
on canvas, no matter how I try, she will
look like a tree. It’s not my gift. Walls
are my platform of worship. They’re
where I see God (in the color, the tex-
ture, the transformation); and doing
excellent work is an honor, because
it’s what He asks me to do.
Each day we receive letters at Faith
Radio mentioning favorite preachers or
programs you enjoy so much. Every
word of feedback is considered, as we
design a day to help you learn about,
obey, and worship God. But if we
simply put this in the file of “good
radio,” we will be sorely lacking.
Serving God with excellent Christian
radio is a form of worship. And hearing
how it enhances your worship? That’s
just sheer fun!
“Thanks for all the times of
refreshment.” - Carolyn
“I drive 16 miles a day through some
great forests and pine plantations. With
WLBF and God’s abundant creation, it
is a great way to start the day.” - Jim
Encouraging you in your faith is
our job, but it’s also our worship.
Consider your job for a minute:
whether you’re swinging a hammer,
balancing the books, or changing a
dozen diapers, do it well and honor
the Lord with your excellence! Our
prayer is that He will reward that
precious time of worship!
Encouraging youin your faith is
our job, but it’s also our worship!

Christian Radio in your HOM
A neighbor in Elmore, AL whose home was destroyed.
Around the world each week, hundreds of millions of peopletune into Christian radio. For
many, radio may be the only mass-mediathey can access. In other parts of theworld, people are so desperate to learnthe English language, they will listen toanything! Having Christian radio broad-casts, provides for God’s Word to beheard, absorbed and shared with others.
Within the last year, we met andhosted colleagues from three differentareas of the world to share and learnhow God is at work through radiobroadcasts. Visiting our broadcast stu-dios were Tosh Suwaratana of Christ forThailand, Patrick and Daniel Okabe ofFaith Radio Uganda, and Kate Michel ofThe Evangelistic Voice of Haiti. Each ofthese Christian radio ministries haveunique needs and languages; however, they all have the same life message tobroadcast: Jesus loves you, and wants togrow His relationship with you. Duringtheir visits’ to Montgomery, we helpedeach of these fellow broadcasters under-stand more about our Faith Radio net-work of stations, our satellite up-link anddown-link to our remote transmitters, and setting up automation systems. Wehad the opportunity to show and trainthem on small solar hand-held radios, which are effective tools that allow peo-ple in remote villages to pick up radiobroadcasts. We were able to share howGod has enlarged our broadcast cover-age area over the years, and reflected on
God’s faithfulness, as He continues topour out His blessings on our ministry.A recap of our international visitors toFaith Radio include:
ThailandChrist for Thailand USA, Inc.www.christforthailand.orgTosh expressedwith us thehardships theyendure due tothe absence ofr e g u l a t i o n .Unlike theUnited StatesFCC (FederalCommunicationCommission),Thailand exer-cises very little control over radio broad-casts. This has created some obstaclesfor each broadcaster, as they are bur-dened with protecting their coveragearea, while also guarding the distortionof signals and tune-in frequencies ofother stations. We were able to reviewand share some of Faith Radio’s Bibleteaching broadcasts that can be pro-grammed to accommodate the languages in Thailand.
Tosh’s ministry also includes the onlyChristian camp in northeast Thailand.Camp Moriah, a 50 acre area, is utilizedto host training conferences to equip andencourage pastors in Thailand.
At Faith Radio, we are blessed to be able to reach thousands of people throughout Alabama and
the Southeast region by communicating life-changing messages through Bible teaching and
music. With the ever-changing world of technology, we are capable of touching lives from our
neighborhoods to the nations. As we work with other ministries around the world, we are
reminded that the language that everyone understands is the language of God’s love.

Throughout the Faith Radio listening area,we see so many cars and trucks with theFaith Radio logo. We had a letter recent-
ly where a listener wrote, “y’all are exactly what Ineeded when GOD yanked me off the path Ihad strayed to. I found you right in front of myeyes one day when I was particularly low. I didn’tknow where to turn. Then I saw a magnet on acar telling me about Faith Radio – and here weare now. I’m happy for the first time in years, I mean really happy!”
God can use anything to draw people to Him,including a magnet on an old dirty car! Will you help communicate and direct people toTUNE-IN to the power of God’s Word on Faith Radio? Your vehicle can become a vessel that drives others toward Christ. Don’tunderestimate the power of a magnet... it mightjust lead the travelers around you to the messagethey need to hear today!

12 “Go and make disciples of all nations...” Matthew 28:19-20
It’s 2012 and
many of us
have decided
that this is the
year things are
going to be differ-
ent. We’re going to get more rest,
spend more time with the family, exer-
cise and eat right, and share the
Gospel with at least one person. We all
have good intentions. Those New
Year’s Resolutions are easy to make,
but not so easy to accomplish. That
requires discipline and self-sacrifice!
As Christians, we don’t need to be
so concerned with whether or not we
make resolutions each year regarding
our health, finances, evangelism or
spiritual growth. The important item to
consider is whether or not we have the
resolve to follow through on the com-
mitments we make. Are we determined
to make our lives count for Christ? Are
we dedicated to pursuing righteous-
ness and the things of God? Maybe, if
we were more insistent on knowing
God better, all of the other areas of our
lives would not be so difficult to main-
tain and our salvation testimony would
flow easily off our lips.
The apostle Paul was a great
example of one who was determined to
follow through on the commitments he
had made for God. In Philippians 3:12-
16, he encouraged the church by giving
a personal testimony: “…I am focusing
all my energies… I strain to reach the
end of the race…” Paul had made a
commitment and with God’s help, he
was putting all of his energy on accom-
plishing what needed to be done.
When we resolve to know God
and His Word better, other areas of life
will be much more manageable and
sharing the good news of Jesus with
others will be just another extension of
our lives. A natural habit. A way of life.
While it does require discipline and
hard work on our part, God will give us
the grace we need to accomplish His
work. Whether it’s diet and nutrition,
handling finances, or asking our
neighbors about their spiritual condi-
tions, God gives us the ability to do
what needs to be done. Now it’s up to
us to do the work, by using the tools
that He has provided us.
Faith Radio is one of those tools.
We offer incredible teaching and
preaching to build you up spiritually
and equip you to serve Him. We air
programs that focus on the develop-
ment and nurturing of your relation-
ships. And the music we play is
intended to guide you in your
own times of personal
worship. Resolve to use
this resource by listen-
ing at every opportu-
nity and imple-
menting the ideas
you hear into
your life. The
natural outflow
will be sharing
the Gospel.

Recently, in some opening com-ments to an edition of The Meeting
House, I mentioned a Scripturethat has been challenging to me for sometime. It comes from 2 Peter chapter 1,and begins with, “…add to your faithvirtue”, and then goes on to list a numberof God-honoring characteristics.
I believe this passage encourages usa believers to not only possess faith, butto allow that faith to drive our activityand determine our character. There is atendency to possess a “Sunday morning”faith which might look good in your bestoutfit, but doesn’t really influence howwe act the rest of the week – I desire forthe radio show to help bridge the gapbetween the sacred and secular, betweenbelief and application, and recent guestshave helped us to do that.
Guests such as:• david Jeremiah (“turning Point”),shared some God-inspired observationsabout the culture, on which he elabo-rates in his new book, I Never ThoughtI’d See the Day. • ray comfort of Living Waters
(“180”), who has produced a compelling short film challenging people to change their thinking on thetopic of abortion. • Glenn stanton presented someinsight on the importance of marriagein our society. • In advance of a special event inOpelika, Jonna chizik, wife of Auburnhead football coach Gene chizik (whoappeared on TMH in July to celebrate therelease of the book, All In), shared abouthow her faith in Christ has sustained herand her family in the midst of the pres-

14 “Go and make disciples of all nations...” Matthew 28:19-20 faith radio’s Ministry Magazine - spring 2012
We have hundreds of people each day
accessing the Faith Radio website to
stay informed about community
events and search for local Christian programs.
During 2011, Faith Radio invested heavily in
updating our website to make it easier to search
and use. We also added the technology to
accommodate access by mobile devices (smart
phones and ipads). We have many people each
day that listen to our programs by streaming our
radio broadcast from the Faith
Radio website.
We invite you to share
with others the value of having
a central place to communi-
cate and learn where God is at
work in our churches and
community. On our website,
you will find a calendar of
events that contains informa-
tion ranging from concerts,
parenting seminars, divorce
care groups, blood drives, to
even major artist appearances!
We are currently working on
adding a "Now Playing" option
on our website that gives
information about our music and artists. We also
plan to add more in 2012 to improve our prayer

a memorial gift is a meaningful way to honor someone at the time of death by recognizing that person’s Christian faith and testimony. Similarly, an honorarium is a tangible way of honoring a living person’s testimony. We are thankful for individuals listed below who choose to honor friends and loved ones through a gift that extends the message of Christ through faith radio’s ministry.
