Well, I suppose it's an invitation, "Won't you be my neighbor?" It's an invitation for somebody to be close to you. –Fred Rogers From the time you were very little, you've had people who have smiled you into smiling, people who have talked you into talking, sung you into singing, loved you into loving. So, on this extra special day, let's take some time to think of those extra special people. Some of them may be right here, some may be far away. Some may even be in heaven. No matter where they are, deep down you know they've always wanted what was best for you. They've always cared about you beyond measure and have encouraged you to be true to the best within you -Fred Rogers As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has – or ever will have – something inside that is unique to all time. –Fred Rogers When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping. -Fred Rogers

Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion--several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven....The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable taste. –Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens)

Did you know that World Communion Sunday began in 1936? In an effort to speak to the need for unity and the interconnectedness and intention of interdependence of churches and denominations upon one another the Presbyterian church began to practice world communion. It quickly spread to other Christians around the globe and reminds us our need to strive to see God across denominational and doctrinal lines and to work together to glorify Christ in the world.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Pastor Scott MOMENT OF AWARENESS PADS-Dave Hersemann PRELUDE O Praise the Lord, All Ye Nations -Klotzbeacher Chancel Choir *SHARING THE PEACE *OPENING SONG This Is My Song -Sibelius This is my song, O God of all the nations, A song of peace for lands afar and mine. This is my home, the country where my heart is, Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine. But other hearts in other lands are beating, With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine. My country's skies are bluer than the ocean, And sunlight beams on clover leaf and pine. But other lands have sunlight too, and clover, And skies are everywhere as blue as mine. O hear my song, O God of all the nations, A song of peace for their land and for mine CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsive) Pastor Scott God of the lonely and grieving, of the abandoned and the parentless, God of the refugee without a home and migrants who finds themselves far from the familiar with only the clothes they carry upon their backs –Who calls each of us by name –every nation, every race, every people… Who is my neighbor? In a world that favors the “chosen” at the expense of the sojourner
