The Opportunity

Through the Students to Business program each of us has an opportunity to become a critical contributor to the IT sector, helping stimulate economic recovery, growth, and job creation.

According to IDC, Microsoft, together with its nearly 700,000 local partners, employs 14.9 million people, generating $537 billion in revenue, and investing $175 billion across their local economies.1

The program aims to empower businesses interested in developing innovative projects and businesses based on Microsoft technology by connecting the next generation of student technologists.

How it Works :

For Universities Universities teaching Microsoft technologies have access to Microsoft software, official curriculum, training materials, career guidance resources, and S2B program tools to help students prepare for and find internships and jobs.

For StudentsStudents interested in technology register to access career news, participate in special networking events, and to uniquely profile their IT skills so they can be found by hiring managers in companies using Microsoft technologies.

For BusinessBusinesses enroll online, and once validated as a Microsoft S2B Employer, may search for qualified students, post internships and jobs seeking Microsoft technology skills, and participate in local and virtual networking events.

S2B Program Partners

To enable greater opportunities for students and employers, the S2B program has partnered with some key organizations:

+ Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) – Service Providers, Retailers, Independent Software Vendors (ISV) or Application Service Providers (ASP) who belong to the MPN, can find new talent with the S2B Program.

+ Microsoft IT Academy – Academic institutions can receive posters for their classrooms, and access career event resources and current job vacancies for their websites.

+ Microsoft BizSpark – Start-ups registered with BizSpark can post internships and job opportunities.

+ IEEE - Thanks to a relationship agreement signed in 2010, between Microsoft and IEEE we are able to expose student members to job opportunities through the Microsoft Students to Business program.

Microsoft Students to Business (S2B) connects students to opportunities using Microsoft Technologies. The objective of the S2B program is to inspire students to begin a careeer using Microsoft technology – either working in a company, or by starting their own Microsoft technology based business.

Starting in Italy in 2006, S2B is now active worldwide. Identifying industry-needed skills and training more than 500,000 students from more than 900 Colleges and Universities worldwide. S2B has connected thousands of students to jobs and internships in the Microsoft ecosystem.
