India has aimed 40 GW of Solar Rooftop Power Plants till 2022. India will have installed 16 GW of the 40 GW target until 2020. Solar Rooftop Power Plants can be Installed on Residencies, Industries, Commercial Complexes, Hospitals, Schools, Hotels, Resorts, Hostels, etc.

Industrial Policy Salient Points

Solar power plant installation with more than 50% of the sanctioned load for MSMEs. Capital subsidy of up to 25% and maximum of ₹35 Lakh on term loan amount for MSMEs. Interest Subsidy of up to 7% of term loan amount with maximum of ₹35 Lakh per annum for 7 years. 1% additional interest subsidy will be given to SC/ST Entrepreneur/ physically challenged entrepreneur/ Women entrepreneur/ Start Up in manufacturing sector. 1% additional interest subsidy will be given to young entrepreneur below the age of 35 years on the date of sanction of loan. Maximum interest subsidy to be capped at 9% for all the categories. The interest subsidy will be so given that in any case, the unit will have to bear minimum 2% of total interest levied on term loan.
