Earlier in the day the students’ were able to attend a performance from a String Quartet, which was an amazing opportunity for them all. HELPERS’ MORNING TEA

We wish to extend a warm welcome to our volunteer community for our Helpers’ Morning Tea next week, Tuesday 4th December. We are very thankful to receive support within the classroom, at sports carnivals, in breakfast club, in the canteen, from our P & C and any other opportunities that arise for volunteer assistance. If you have volunteered your time to support the teachers and students at Glenroy Public School in 2018 please come along to our Helpers’ Morning Tea.

TINY TRASURES This Thursday December 6th will be our last Tiny Treasures session for 2018. We invite all parents and carers of Tiny Treasures children to a family breakfast from 8.30am in our school ‘Learning Hub’. There will be tea, coffee, juice, fruit and some breakfast foods to share along with an opportunity to meet and greet all our staff at Glenroy. At 9am the Tiny Treasures will head to their usual classroom while parents and carers can stay on and listen to some important information regarding the start of Kindergarten in 2019. We expect this session to finish at about 10am.

LIBRARY NEWS END OF TERM 4 Week 7 is the last week for borrowing for 2018.

All books are due back in the library for the holidays. Students who return their books before the end of term will go in a draw for a prize which will be drawn on the last day of school. There will be two prizes – one for Infants students and one for Primary students.

Books that are damaged or lost must be paid for by the end of term. Please pay at the office.

We will be undertaking a library stocktake during Weeks 9 and 10.

Thank you Ruth Grogan

QUART-ED Yesterday we were privileged to have students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music visit our school and give three free concerts to the students. They are called ‘Quart-Ed’ (a combination of the words ‘quartet’ and ‘education’) and they had our students totally enthralled with their musical skills on string instruments. The concerts were interactive and several of our students became conductors and had the opportunity to conduct the quartet, changing the pace of their music with a wave of their hands. Our students also used body percussion to accompany the quartet as they played which sounded absolutely delightful!

MEGA MINI MART

Wow! What an amazing day it was yesterday. Mini Mart was fantastic. There were more than 10 stalls to go to like Haunted Hallway, Zooper Spinner, Water Pong, Slam City, Sausage Sizzle and a visit from our local firemen. It was great to see all the parents and family friends. Stalls made quite a lot of money which will help our school. Everyone had a fun time especially the stall keepers. It was great weather for the cooler stalls like spiders and ice blocks. The Year 5s had a good experience with their stalls. Thanks to the P&C for their stalls too.
