Objectives__________________________________________Good indoor air quality (IAQ) is a key aspect of sustainable design. The Green Mark for Buildings Scheme by BCA includes IndoorEnvironment Quality embracingIAQ as one of the key criteria in theassessment score to encourage healthier and less pollut ingpract ices in the built environment.
This coursew ill enhance your understanding of the fundamentals ofIAQ. You w ill be able to ident ify the tw o major indoorcontaminants - chemical and microbiological contaminants.Describe their sources and health hazards and take appropriateremediation measures. Conduct IAQ invest igat ion and takemeasurements of common indoor contaminants. You w ill gainpract ical insights on specific IAQ problems and solutions from realcase study examples.
For Whom________________________________________• Engineers and building professionals intending to seek
accreditat ion as Cert ified Green Mark Professionals under theBCA Green Mark Specialist Cert ificat ion Scheme. (Please seepre-requisite for eligibility).
• Professionals who are involved in commissioning and operatebuildings, as w ell as conduct ing IAQ invest igat ion andremediat ion.
Award___________________________________________• Cert ificate of Accomplishment (COA) w ill be aw arded to
part icipants who meet the 75% attendancerequirement.

Certified Green Mark Professional (GMP) ProgrammeThe Cert ified Green Mark Professional Programme, is a training and recognit ion scheme, introduced by BCA to raise industrycapability in the niche area of Sustainable Design and Development. Designed as a voluntary career upgrading for buildingprofessionals, the scheme recognises indiv iduals w ith the relevant competencies in green building design and pract ices.Candidates seeking accreditat ion as Certified Green Mark Professionals w ith BCA, besides meeting other pre-requisites, (pleasesee eligibility for GMP Cert ificat ion below ),w ould needto completethe Cert ification Course for GMP. The GMP course, is offeredas a series of short modules, focused on design concepts, pract ical green solut ions & technologies, and the use of buildingsimulat ion tools to predict building performance. The scheme envisions a GMP as:A competent professional w ho possesses the know ledge and skills capable of carry ing out detailed design, prediction andenhancement of building performance for Green Mark certification and implementation.
