JPE’s Leonardo Assistant Vincenzo Caimano
created the biofuel Dimethyl Furan
molecule using Trimble 3D warehouse
sketchup and AR-media tools.
Krzysztof Bahrynowski used the AR molecule
to demonstrate Professor Jonathan Borg’s
understanding of Augmented Reality in the
classroom.
The AR marker code is in the plastic bucket
covered with water. Water is used instead of
fuel for health and safety reasons, The
webcamera had no problem with refraction
through the water. The dimetyl furan
molecule showed clearly in the monitor with
real objects. Materials could be marked with
a code marker and learners could identify
them not only by physical characteristics but
also by studying the molecular structure .
