More than 50% of the world’s population will live in countries where average medicine consumption is more than 1 dose per person per day, up from 33% of the world in 2005. China, India, Brazil and Indonesia, with a combined population of 3.23 billion in 2020, will account for nearly half of the increased volume in medicine usage globally.
