FULL-TIME INTERNSHIPSWe'll tailor your internship experience to align with your unique skills and professional interests.

Summer Global InternshipEarn six credits over eight weeks with a full-time internship and online academic seminar.

Semester Global InternshipEarn up to 15 credits over 14 weeks taking two courses followed by an internship and online academic seminar.

PART-TIME INTERNSHIPS Combine study abroad with a part-time internship for additional personal and cultural perspective.

Summer Global Internship Language Immersion After completing an intensive language course, you'll do 100-120 hours of immersive Spanish internship work in Seville or Barcelona.

What was the best part about being an intern abroad?

Being an intern in Berlin was incredible. The city is an island of diversity, hosting various identities, cultures, and experiences for foreigners and natives alike. Coming from a small town in New Hampshire, Berlin was like nothing I’d ever seen. It provided countless opportunities – not only in film, but in all things creative.

What was the biggest takeaway from your internship experience?

The experience of being a global intern has greatly affected my career goals and personal life. As I spent more time in Berlin, I found a new sense of individuality, it opened me up to letting go of judgements and helped me to become my authentic self. Beforehand, I had thoughts of moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film but, instead, I'm now looking to pursuing a master’s program in Germany.

Why did you decide to do an internship abroad?

Doing a full-time internship allows you to immerse yourself in the work you are doing. Immersion into your field allows for a faster development than you could get from the classroom. For me, this meant focusing my daily efforts on improving the editing and structure of the videos I was making.

Tell us about the placement process:

The placement process went quite quickly and smoothly – it was very personal to my goals as well. The local team assisted me in getting into contact with Berlin-based start-ups which I then met with for interviews. I ended up selecting an internship with Book a Street Artist.

What kind of professional network did you build while on program?

The program creates an environment of development and community. During the time spent at CIEE's site in Berlin, I made longtime friends and developed a network of talented and amazing human beings.
