NurseryWe made binoculars
to look for bears when we went on a bear hunt in the woods.
We have been learning

I think the tin foil will be the best insulator to
keep the hot water warm because it is
metal and it will keep the heat in more than the thin orange fabric.

I loved learning how to make a fire and about the different materials you can use to make a fire. I enjoyed eating marshmallows. Lewis

For our STEM project, Year 3 designed and built their own boats using modelling clay. They had to keep re-designing to make them float & have see how many passengers they could take. Lots of resilience was needed!
4.1 We learnt how to make fires using flint and then
we got to toast marshmallows.
We had to get the tyres from one end to the other without touching the ground. We had to work really
well as a team.
For our STEM project, Year 4 learnt about life cycles in the Artic. We then used the information we found out to create a life cycle web.
We wrote our instructions for our teddies so that they could survive in the
wild.
We shared our books with 1.1.
Class 4.2 really enjoyed their story swap with their bears and the Reception 2 class.“I was really enjoyable.”“They asked me lots of questions.”“We had to make the story out of the pictures!”“They are really good listeners.”“They loved playing with our teddies.”
In year 4 we learnt about
what organisms live in the
Arctic, and what they would eat.We made food mobiles to show this as a food
web!

Class 6.1 took an adventure to Antarctica with Ernest Shackleton on board his ship ‘Endurance’.
We also had a wonderful adventure with the Mini Marines. We learned about working as a team and the importance of listening to each other.
Bring your teddy to school!
It was just great seeing everyone bring a teddy! It was funny
riding to school on my scooter with him!

I really enjoyed the mini-marines because
it was very fun and interesting. I felt
surprised and elated when I won the hat!

Year 6.2 joined Ernest Shackleton’s crewOn board ship Endurance.
In year 6 we learnt about Ernest Shackleton and the perilous journey he took in 1914 to sail to Antarctica.
We then wrote our own persuasive letters of application to become one of the crew members on
board the ship Endurance after completing a conscience alley as to whether or not we should go.
We had to consider what clothing, equipment and food that we would take
on the journey and stick to a budget.
