WHY HUNGARY?

REASONABLE COST

Even though Hungary is situated in Europe, the standard of living is cheaper compared to Australia and other parts of Europe. If you want to have an Winter European experience at a reasonable cost, then Hungary is a good choice!

FOREIGN CULTURAL

EXPERIENCE

You will have the exposure to exotic cultural experiences such as outdoor baths, which are less accessible in Australia.

CENTRALISED &

CONVENIENT LOCATION

Spend a challenging six weeks volunteering and creating a social impact and then a few weeks afterwards travelling around Europe at an affordable cost.

MY EXPERIENCE

However, over the two months, not only have I learnt how to appreciate the little things that I used to take for granted back home, I have also gained more confidence, independence, and global awareness. For the first time ever, I tried backpacking across Eastern Europe on my own, meeting lots of wonderful people along the way, and gaining very insightful perspectives from people on the other side of the world. It has definitely been a memorable experience that I

Volunteering overseas with AIESEC has allowed me to better appreciate my role as a global citizen. I realised that everyone is bounded universally, through new friendships, mutual affections, and the exchanging of cultures speaking the same language has become secondary. I have travelled quite a fair bit over the years, but my AIESEC adventure has enriched me like no other travel experiences have. I started my trip on a flight alone to Budapest, putting on a brave front and biting my nails throughout the 30 hours journey. Rather than scared, I was more worried. It is, after all, a pretty big commitment an eight weeks volunteering trip in a foreign land, with no friends or family members by your side. I was worried that I would not get accustomed to the weather, to the food, to the people. And worst of all, I was worried that I was going to miss home.

become more acquainted with the English language through the sharing of global mindsets and fostering of friendships. Exchange participants are responsible for teaching English classes to children from primary one to primary eight. They work five days a week, and are also invited to participate in various school festivals and celebrations. This project is an excellent opportunity for those who are

exchange participants to gain more understanding on Hungary from different perspectives of children aged six to sixteen, and gain stimulating insights on their lives. E
