Senior Research Officer Late Upstream Process Development Glenmark provides you with a unique opportunity and environment to collaborate and interact with dedicated people while expanding your career. Glenmak has all capabilities required to develop antibody products and take them rapidly from discovery to clinical phase testing and you will have the opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of discovery through the manufacturing of a monoclonal antibodies, and contribute to develop Glenmark as a company. The Late USP team seeks an energetic, people-oriented scientist/engineer with good cell culture experience and technical skills to drive the development and technology transfer of multiple upstream monoclonal antibody production processes. RESPONSIBILITIES More specifically your responsibilities will be to: Drive process development activities to improve and characterize Glenmark’s Late Upstream Processes and process development platforms. Actively drive and support technology transfer of Late Upstream Processes to Glenmark’s manufacturing team, and external CMOs for Phase I and Phase II production. Participate in the process development/validation of Glenmark’s New Biologics, i.e. state of the art production of monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) in mammalian cells (CHO) from benchtop bioreactors to Phase I/II clinical trial production scale. Interface closely with R&D, DSP, analytical, manufacturing, quality, regulatory and project teams to bring molecules from discovery through pre-clinical and clinical development phases. Oversee and lead technical aspects of some project. Represent the Late USP team in a project centered matrix organization. YOUR PROFILE: Master’s degree with 3-5 years or PhD with 1-3 years of experience in biotechnology, chemical engineering or a related discipline Proven mammalian cell culture experience, including hands-on experience with pilot/ large scale disposable (50L and beyond) or stainless steel bioreactors Experience in scale up, process control methods and process validation is highly desirable Experience with small scale SU bioreactors is a plus Active and independent problem solving capabilities Excellent planning and organization skills Experience in managing people is a plus A highly developed team spirit and an ability to work with flexibility and independence in a changing and demanding environment Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Fluency in English, both written and verbal; fluency in French is beneficial Must be available to travel up to 4 weeks per year abroad (Europe, India, USA)
